Good to be Back

Sorry I haven't posted here in such a long time, things get a little crazy with school and work.

I'm sure everybody has chimed in on the QB situation and I will not spare you, but I will abbreviate it. When I compare JP and Trent the most definitive thing that comes to mind is progress. JP Losman sat his rookie season, he came out with one year already in a system and played like a rookie. He came back last season and played like a rookie in the first half, but played well in the second half. He comes back this season and lays a couple of eggs through 2 games. When you look at Trent Edwards he is as green as they get, a true "redshirt" rookie. He is lightyears ahead of JP in his development, and he has ringing endorsements from Bill Walsh(not to be taken lightly). What's remarkable is that Edwards may give us just as good of a chance to win as JP, and he's a rookie. I am a big supporter of JP, and I will shed no tears if the coaches decide to go back to him, but Edwards is definitely earning the job of starting QB on this team. At this point, I don't know if they CAN go back to JP, Trent has established continuity and played very well. He's a very bright guy, and if he gets the nod, I don't think he'll be throwing many more of those bonehead picks in the weeks to come.

As an aside, I was just wondering if anybody knows why George Wilson is starting at safety rather than John Wendling. Wilson has only played safety for a few months! Wendling at least has been playing through college. I just find it hard to believe that Wilson is a more knowledgeable safety than Wendling. But, I guess the coaches know better. It will be a very interesting training camp next season when Leonhard, Simpson, Wendling, and Wilson are all battling for the FS spot.

As another aside, why on earth isn't John McCargo getting more reps at DT?! He makes plays just about every time they rotate him in. Kyle Williams has been looking very good as well. I'm pretty stoked they released Tim Anderson, he was a waste of a roster spot. I want Larry Triplett to start showing up a little more, he seems to be getting outperformed by the youngsters.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
