Injury Bug Bites Bills Again

Cieslak back due to injuries at TE (BuffaloBills.com)

[editor's note, by Brian Galliford] Thanks to 33 for breaking the news here - with injuries to Robert Royal, Derek Schouman and Matt Murphy over the past few weeks, the Bills were hurting at the TE/HB positions, and bringing Cieslak back into the fold is about the safest and smartest move they can make at this point. The Thomas injury hurts - he's been playing very well in his nickel role; Ashton Youboty has the best shot at replacing Kiwaukee, though Jerametrius Butler will get a look as well. The offical stories can be accessed here (Cieslak) and here (other roster moves).

I just wanted to let everyone know that Matt Murphy and Kiwaukee Thomas have become the 11th and 12th members of the Buffalo Bills to be placed on injured reserve.

To fill their roster spots, the Bills have brought back TE Brad Cieslak and signed free agent TE Tim Massaquoi.

Being that the Derek Schouman's spot was still available, they activated reserve C Christian Gaddis from the practice squad.

To fill their 8 man practice squad, the Bills signed free agent FB Jonathan Evans.

Has anyone heard anything about Lynch's injury? I know A. Peterson's is looking pretty serious, but I haven't found any articles giving an update on Lynch.

[editor's note, by Brian Galliford] That would be a yes, 33. According to Chris Brown, Lynch is not in attendance at today's practice (nor is Aaron Schobel). Royal is sitting out with a concussion similar to John DiGiorgio's last week.

Wednesday is Dick Jauron's day to address the media about the upcoming game, so I expect we'll hear more about the injuries, quarterbacks and Patriots later on this afternoon.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Re:
All that I've heard regarding Marshawn is that he did not practice today.

Lynch update
this is horrible news.

Rotoworld:
Coach Dick Jauron indicated Monday that Marshawn Lynch's ankle injury is more severe than the typical sprain and could force him out multiple weeks.
Buffalo is prepared to go with Anthony Thomas as its starter and Dwayne Wright as his oft-used backup. Wright might be the favorite for goal-line carries, while Thomas would get the majority of the touches. Fred Jackson could also be used sparingly. After New England, the Bills face Jacksonville and Washington, it won't be an easy road for a makeshift ground game.
