Wanted Pass Rushing Defensive End!!!!
Let me begin by saying this is not a diss towards our current ends (Schobel and Kelsay) I'am simply stating the obvious. We need to be able to pressure/sack the quaterback without needing to blitz all the time to do so. Even if it's just a situational player for third down we need someone that we can count on to bring the heat to help get our defense off the field on third down because that's how you win consistently in the NFL. Maybe the Bills need to get rookie Chris Ellis on the field, maybe he could provide the Bills with the type of individual effort that's sorely lacking right now. Just look at the last three SuperBowl Champions and one thing they all have in common is they all had someone capable of administering pressure on the quaterback. When you can do this it makes the times you do blitz much more effective therefore you'll win more than you loose. Hopefully Chris can help and the Bills will give him a chance to.

agreed
only difference is i think that kelsay and schobel are both overpaid and suck. schobel was good….not any more…IMO
i think my balls could get a better pash rush than those two

that’s pretty much my opinion on them too, though Schobel still has some value against the run….

Your balls? Wow. Didn’t see that one coming.

Mine don't pass rush,
but they do generate pressure :-)

Brian is right
Every time we talk about this, these guys get worse and worse. They’ve gone from being O.K., to Average, to Adaquate, to lousy, to being unable to generate a pass-rush better then somebodys balls.
The pass-rush definetly needs a lift, and an influx of youth, but we should try to keep things in perspective.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

What about
using a situational pass rusher (like Ellis) on obvious passing downs? We can use all the help we can to pressure opposing passers. There’s other things the D could do too, but this might provide just enough boost to the pass rush to help out the regulars manning the position.
Get the Bills back to the big game!

thats coaching
The coaches would have to do that. however, they seem (for whatever reason) shy about putting quality people in at spots and i never understood it. Fred jackson was a guy i have been clamoring for since his days in nfl europe. he has obvious talent and it took an injury to put him in.
Sometimes i don’t get it. I think they have issues recognizing players that will break out.
i think the same goes for steve johnson. he probably needs to learn how to run routes in the NFL. but IMO he’s going to be a very very good WR soon, probably better than Hardy (he’s really slow and easy to tackle – too lanky)
As for Ellis – I haven’t seen enough of him to say put him out there. he never stood out in the pre-season games like Jackson did.
Regardless – they need to do something. I think it is clear that the best way to play defense is to pressure the QB. Its a givin at this point

They need to give Ellis a shot simply to try something new. What they’re doing not really isn’t working. It’s time to see if they can get something out of Ellis.

you're correct
he’s young and full of energy.

I've heard
ellis has a motor and to put him in third or fourth quarter when hes fully rested and all the O-line is fairly tired wouldnt be a bad idea. I believe he had a sack in the preseason not sure though
