With Kudos to Rabid Buffalo
Is there some smoke going on here? Where there's smoke, there's fire. Here's the BB.com depthchart: http://www.buffalobills.com/team/depth-chart-list.html
No Freddie. Yuo can't call that an internal error. He's been and will be (barring a trade) a huge contributor to this team.
Here's a copy and paste job from PFT:
JACKSON IS STILL A BILL
Posted by Mike Florio on October 12, 2008, 9:23 p.m.
Despite rampant rumors and speculation that running back Fred Jackson’s absence from the Bills’ online roster and depth chart arises from the fact that he has been traded to the Chiefs as part of a package that will bring tight end Tony Gonzalez to Buffalo, Bills V.P. of Communications Scott Berchtold tells us that Jackson’s absence from the web site is the result of an internal error.
“Fred is very much a part of our team,” Berchtold said via e-mail.
Besides, why would the Chiefs want Jackson? They’ve got Larry Johnson, Kolby Smith, and Jamaal Charles at running back.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that the Bills won’t get Gonzalez. Still, we think his most likely destination is the Giants.

A couple of readers have pointed out to us that the official online roster of the Buffalo Bills doesn’t include running back Fred Jackson.
Jackson also doesn’t show up on the depth chart.
We’re trying to find out what Jackson’s status currently is. Some are speculating that he has been traded, possibly as part of a package that would send him to the Chiefs for tight end Tony Gonzalez.
Stay tuned.

I wouldn't do it
If anything happened to Marshawn Lynch we would be in a huge amount of trouble. Jackson is a great second weapon in the backfield, capable of making big plays out of nothing, and I think you need a solid #2 running back. You couldn’t hand it off to Gonzalez, and we aren’t going to become the greatest show on turf and throw it on every down, I think the risk outweighs the reward. I’d love to see Tony Gonzales come to Buffalo but for a draft pick, not a crucial part of our roster.

Not sure why anyone would believe Jackson for Gonzo is something the Chiefs would even consider. They don’t need a RB at all, especially a backup RB….

Yea
As much as it is a bad trade for the chiefs, I dont really wanan see him get traded. When Jackson’s name is called is always seems to make plays. And I almost guarantee he wouldn’t get traded because Jackson happened to go to Coe College a DIII school which is actually the same school Marv Levy went to. They have a lil bit of a connection.

Fred Jackson? Hardly. Buffalo wouldn’t trade him at this juncture. J.P. Losman? Even less likely, mostly because the Chiefs wouldn’t want him.
What flummoxes me is that nobody brings up John McCargo’s name. Buffalo tried to trade him earlier this season, reportedly, and he’s the type of athlete that fits well into Herm Edwards’ defensive scheme. He’s also young enough to fit in well with the Chiefs’ current rebuilding project. I’d imagine that the long-term interior line duo of Glenn Dorsey and John McCargo has to have some appeal to Chiefs fans.
