But (Tony) Gonzalez has no one but himself to blame. He crossed the Bills off his wish list. He closed his mind to a small town with a big heart. He limited his opportunities and denied the Chiefs the chance to take the third-round pick, and other compensation, the Bills were offering. This is not entirely Carl Peterson’s fault. Gonzalez also is at fault.
Had Gonzalez been more open-minded, he could have spent the rest of this season with a team chasing a top playoff seed rather than a top draft pick.

I take back what I said before after reading this. I feel Gonzo should be criticized a bit for his decision. I don’t consider us Super Bowl contenders, but we are playoff contenders and should be for the coming seasons. That’s A LOT more than the Chiefs will be any time soon. Gonzalez made a stupid mistake not considering Buffalo, or Atlanta for that matter, and now he’s stuck in a rather poor situation….
He indeed can’t have it both ways. Complaining that he wasn’t dealt when he could have fit in just fine with two playoff contending teams that he said no to is just idiotic….

so long
as we are playoff contenders we are chasing a Super Bowl. Thats the whole point of the playoffs. Just ask the Giants. Tony G should have realized that. He has 2 maybe 3 years left. The Bills are a young up and coming playoff team, one on which he would have been a valued veteran leader, and thus he would have been at least competing for a Super Bowl.

This should serve as motivation..
The Bills should use this as motivation. Imagine how Gonzo would feel if buffalo made it deep into the playoffs or forgive me for day-dreaming… make it to the big dance! I would love to see that happen because for sure a reporter somewhere would surely ask TG if he regrets his actions.. it would be icing on the cake!
I sure am glad that the BILLS brass at least made one of the best offers without breaking down and giving a 2nd rounder. It shows that they are serious about trying to make this team something special without sacrificing the future to do it.
GO BILLS!

from rotoworld.com
NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reports that Tony Gonzalez was unwilling to be traded to Buffalo or a possible deal would have happened.
Schefter isn’t the first to mention this, but he confirms that the Bills were willing to give up more than any other team (a third-rounder and change) for Gonzalez, and he didn’t want to go to a small market. It makes his complaining after the deadline sound more self-centered than it already did.
sure does!

Wait, he didn't want to go to a small market team?
And he was willing to go to Green Bay?

Ah, but you realize, “small market” really means “irrelevant to ESPN”.

What I'm surprised about...
…is that this is a surprise to anybody. Of course he didn’t want to play in Buffalo. The Buffalo media wasn’t big enough to stroke his ego sufficiently. He’s not a team player and this group is built on team chemistry and selflessness. Despite playing in a position where there is a great need, he would not have been a psychological fit here.

I guess TG is playing for a playoff contender now
LOL!!! Aren’t you glad you thumbed your nose at the Bills?
