Coverage
Coverage is something that every cornerback on our roster excels at. Ironically, they were all brought here to play in a predominantly zone defensive scheme. But every one of them possesses a natural talent to play man coverage (you cannot teach this skill, only refine it). Leodis McKelvin is starting in place of Terrance McGee this weekend, and the Chargers are going to test him without a doubt. And with Donte Whitner likely covering Antonio Gates, there may not be much help coming over the top. It's Week 7, and welcome to the NFL rook, you get to cover the likes of Vincent Jackson, Chris Chambers, and Buster Davis on an island. Hopefully, things are starting to slow down for McKelvin and he can K.I.S.S.
If Buffalo can somehow slow down the Chargers' passing game, then LT will become a non-factor. Hopefully Perry has dialed something up to disrupt an immaculately timed passing game run by Philip Rivers. Somewhere in this equation there is going to be press coverage, and our pass rush had better get there this week or it's Arizona round 2.
I want to see the Bills very talented youngsters display that talent on Sunday, and get us some turnovers. And if everyone on the front 7 decides to take a page out of Marshawn's book and kick it into Beast Mode, then it very well may happen.

Considering our D only has 3 INT’s on the season, our best CB, who has 2 himself is out, and we’re facing the NFL’s #1 passer, I envision zero picks. In fact, with our guys likely 10 yards off the ball, we probably won’t come close to one either. Maybe we’ll get a tipped ball or two at the line that’ll give us a chance to snatch one, but I just don’t see it happening otherwise.

As long as someone busts Rivers’ teeth several times – and we don’t have to watch that jack@$$ romping up and down our field running his mouth all day – I’m OK. I’ll be better if he’s just standing on the sideline. This game is on the O.

Argh, and you hit the issue on the head Brian and FA
The Bills D isn’t getting pressure and Fewell’s inability to understand that we have fricking MAN COVERAGE CBs trying to play zone means we’ll see alot of short passes. I am sincerely hoping Fewell gets his ass in gear and figures out that having a Rookie and Greer playing man to man is alot easier than zone and leaves Ko playing deep center field and lets Whitner and Youbuty handle GAtes and the other WRs.
If Fewell can actually change up his plan to handle and opponent I may not howl for his head. But if I see our guys 10 yards off the ball this whole game, ESPECIALLY on 3 and 2, I will be posting a GET RID OF FEWELL fan post every week.

The Bills do mix in man coverages on occasion. They’re a predominant zone defense, so to expect them to switch completely is a bit unrealistic. I think we’ll see a lot more man than we’re accustomed to this week, however. Fewell’s got to keep things tricky for the Chargers, and mixing his defensive looks is the most effective way to do that.

I'm predicting 1 pick
Rivers is going to put the ball in the air 30ish times. The Bills should have a good shot at at least 1 INT, possibly 2-3.

I voted for 1 pick as well. Rivers does have 6 games where he has thrown 2 INTs between last year and this season so 2 seems possible. Rivers has never had a 3 INT game as a pro so that seems a little optimistic for me.
