BUF Injury Report :: MIA Injury Report
Bills Inactives:WR Steve Johnson, WR Justin Jenkins, RB Xavier Omon, CB Ashton Youboty, OG Brad Butler, OT Demetrius Bell, DE Aaron Schobel

It's game day at Buffalo Rumblings!  We'll keep this short and sweet: the Buffalo Bills are in Miami to take on our hated rival Dolphins, and a win today would - at least in my book - register as the Bills' most satisfying win of the season.  Beating the Dolphins puts me in a better mood than beating any other team - and since the Bills have won 7 of the past 8 against this team, it's a feeling I'm not ready to give up.

But this game isn't going to be an easy one.  In fact, it might be the team's toughest road test of the season to date - even tougher than their trip to Arizona, where they got blown out 41-17 by the Cardinals.  Miami's a talented team with experience at the right spots, most notably quarterback.  The Dolphins can play with any team in the league at Dolphins Stadium.  It's going to take a well-rounded effort from all three phases for the Bills to beat the Dolphins today.  I think it gets done, but I'm not putting money on it.

If you're looking for the best spot to chat live during the game, this is it.  If you've got an account, hop on in and say hello.  If not, create one - it's free.  Let's start this three-game divisional run of ours off on the right foot with a win in Miami.  GO BILLS!

'Sup Fellow Rumblers...

looking for a strong start this week, ill be back inbetween quarters (no laptop), hoping mr. galliford and the triumvirate could post what matchups they think are going the way of the bills and viceversa.

ps. How do you get that quotation under your posts? cuz mine would say ’FYI: The Buffalo Bills have covered the spread more than anyother team in the NFL the last 3 years = heartbreak.

Hope the improvement we saw in pass protection last week was permanent and not just a one off against the chargers. I cant imagine Miami hasnt seen the Oakland game and realized how our offensive wheels start to fall off when Trent gets pressured.

3 times up the gut will either make you a hero or a goat, right now its leaning goat wise. If the Bills score some, it swings back to hero. But for now the weathervane is showing Goat.

lot of same things, good and bad

we have little, if any, run blocking – I am beginning to wonder if we ever will. You have to convert short-yardage situations SOME time if you want to win a title.

On defense, they look pretty good except for Terrence McGree, who can’t guard Kevin O’Connell. He always plays 5-10 yards off receivers yet is a starter. That has been a mystery for three years..

Thank God for Ryan Lindell and in the inexperienced mistakes by the Dolphins.

I'm surprised

more opponents don’t take advantage f that more often. It would seem like "easy pickins.’

Maybe the coach has him play that way because he isn’t good enough to blanket his man. At any rate, I think he’s a weakness and can hurt us, big-time. Hope I’m wrong.

OKay Bills, we get the ball to start the 2nd half, things we need to work on

Defense
1- Tackling by the D
2- Keeping containment on outside runs
3- Play recognition has been poor by the D, gotta tighten it up boys

Offense
1- Eliminate the stupid stupid penalties that have hurt us
2- Establish the run, quick pitches and sweeps will work, gotta use them
3- Catch the damn ball, we have had a bad case of the dropsies today, gotta make those plays boys
4- Change up the play calling. Predicatbility has hurt us as the Phins have been able to stack the box to stop the run.

thats cool

we get the ball back and its a six point game. Thats prolly better than a punt

by TheSharp on Oct 26, 2008 3:44 PM EDT reply actions

No, we punt it to Miami. Rules of a safety.

Oh

thats wierd, thought we got it back….

by TheSharp on Oct 26, 2008 3:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Oh well

we concede two and probably get better field position on the safety kick rather than punting from the end zone. We need a TD anyways I guess. Thats about as positive as I can spin

by BillsNorth on Oct 26, 2008 3:44 PM EDT reply actions

This doesn’t change anything. A TD for Buffalo still wins the game.

by BeastMode on Oct 26, 2008 3:44 PM EDT reply actions

Exactly beast

Thais doesn’t hurt us at all. We got room for Moorman to punt it away, either way we need a stop and a TD

by David Oleksy on Oct 26, 2008 3:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Once again, the loss of Reed is killing us

Royal is to incapable of being the safety valve Trent needs. LEts just put Schouman and Fine out there full time now, maybe they can do something, Royal ain’t.

~K

by Kurupt on Oct 26, 2008 3:58 PM EDT up reply actions

That really means nothing. It’s a good coaching staff. We didn’t get out-coached, we got out-played.

by Brian Galliford on Oct 26, 2008 4:00 PM EDT up reply actions

Ummm, beg to differ

Any coach who lets the other team dictate the tempo to his players is getting outcoached Brian.
McGee couldn’t play today, but we kept trotting him out there and Fewell kept putting him in position to fail by having him bail everytime, which left alot of room open.
Don’t know if that could be called anything but being outcoached.

Fear the mighty helmet wearing gopher, he is coming for your soul....

by WABillsfan on Oct 26, 2008 4:01 PM EDT up reply actions

We had the tempo through most of the third quarter.

McGee played because he was healthier than Youboty. Needed the numbers.

by Brian Galliford on Oct 26, 2008 4:02 PM EDT up reply actions

Brian, you're just making excuses

We had tempo for 1 drive? Miami had it the rest of the game and just smacked us around

If McGee was goign to be so bad, put McKelvin in. Or stick him up on the line to at least force them to throw it deep instead of just letting Ginn catch 15-20 yarders all day.

Just pathetic coaching today. You can’t deny that

~K

by Kurupt on Oct 26, 2008 4:05 PM EDT up reply actions

I didn’t say it wasn’t bad coaching. I’m saying that the coaches didn’t take safeties and turn the ball over.

~K

by Kurupt on Oct 26, 2008 4:09 PM EDT up reply actions

by Cinga on Oct 26, 2008 4:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Definitely wasn’t a good day, but keep it in perspective. I mean, Buffalo didn’t play very well, made all kind of mistakes and turned the ball over and lost by 9. Not saying I am happy about them playing poorly and losing, but they were in the game throughout even with all the bad plays and mistakes. The big thing to look for is if they bounce back from a poor performance today with a good one next week.

trent threw like garbage, receivers couldn’t make space, turk didn’t feel like running after it showed us all we could score points that way, receivers dropped the ball, turnovers killed us, field position battle was worse than raiders game, we returned kicks terribly against the bottom dwelling return coverage unit of the dolphins…shall we go on?

I don’t mind this loss. Young team on the road against a team coming off two straight losses. I don’t see any collapse by the bills. 5-2 is better than anyone on this board could have anticipated. Let’s not second guess every little thing, let’s stay confident in the bills. Jets and Patriots are gonna get a urgent bills team.

by Tatunka on Oct 26, 2008 4:20 PM EDT up reply actions

We lost by 9, and thats amazing

The way we played it should have been alot more points put up on us.
Our D played like crap, and they were out of position all day long. If McGee couldn’t cover someone, we should have gotten him off the field earlier, we have 6 safeties, use them.
Our O had a hard time moving the ball against a fired up Dolphins D, thats not a good sign. Reed being out hurt us a lot, he is Trent’s go to guy and without him, Trent started to get happy feet and held the ball to much. He needs to be the field.
Royal, well, what more needs to be said, he sucks.

Why does this team play so poorly for most of every game (except much of Seattle, 2 Q’s vs Jax and the SD game)???

This team simply plays down to the competition. Today they were outcoached, outmuscled and smacked around. Terrible job by the staff and a terrible job by the O.

by Tatunka on Oct 26, 2008 4:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Other than the long catch where Mitchell caught him, he didn’t have much YAC. It was all McGee playing 20 yards off of him. When Pennington has enough time to flutter passes 20 yards downfield and the CB is still out of the picture, you’ve got some MAJOR coaching issues on D.
