Most Memorable Bills Games Ever???

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the site but love what I see so far and can't wait to get more involved.

A question for you though- If you were to think back over the past 30 years or so of Bills football, which individual games stick out most in your minds?  Things like huge comebacks, miraculous wins, crazy things that happened in the stands, SuperBowls, conference championships,  blunder type games (Leon Lett type things)?

Thanks guys!!  Just trying to get some insight into what makes the Bills so special to so many of us!!

1988 - Bills v Jets, 9-6 OT victory, taking down the goal posts...

It was the first yer i watched the Bills as a young boy of six, and with my very vivid memory, I am able to remember watching that game, and my father, who was a Bills fan from the beginning, and had watched the ups and downs, especially after grinding through the atrocious mid-80s Bills’ teams, he was so happy that day, it was unbelivable.

Also, i think it beats out the ‘Comeback’ (although that would be in my top 5, not 2) because it meant so much to a team that hadn’t been winning for so long, and to finally win the division championship, it was huge. Not to mention, you will never see the goal posts go down like that again, I mean it almost brings a tear to my eye right now. The comeback brought us to a 3rd or 4th super bowl, and we were a team who wouldnt die, but we had been there already. For me, 9-6 against the Jets defined the next six years of Bills football.

Bills Vs. Skins

don’t remember the year, and I’m to lazy to look it up now.
Patrick Ramsey gets hurt and in comes Rob Johnson for the Skins. The next play in typical Johnson fashion he holds the ball too long and Schobel gets him for a sack. That has to be the loudest I’ve ever heard a sporting event be, and I’ve been to a PSU home game with about 2x the people.

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

I hate to pick a game the Bills lost,

but the Bills vs Giants Superbowl will live with me forever. I don’t even need a TV to view that game, I just have to close my eyes. Wide left…..wide left…..wide left….. it haunts my dreams.

I could talk about this forever...

And I just might, someday soon. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite games ever…

My first two against the Bears (lost 7-0 on a Payton dive for a TD) and Miami (a wide right FG attempt to win the game).

A 20-0 loss to Houston in the rain. My father taught me a lesson that day on being a fan.

The Robb Riddick hail mary pass to win the game.

The Bills dancing at midfield after clinching the title against the Rams.

LT as a TE in a strike game, with Totten at QB.

Ronnie Harmon dropping a catchable pass in a playoff game.

Opening drive at home against Indy the following season, launching the K-gun/No huddle offense.

Randall Cunningham and a 95 yard throw from my end zone.

51-3.

Wide right.

Comeback, which I didn’t see live, but listened to with a good friend. Was working in a pizzeria at the time of the game.

I have so much more my friend, and I bet a lot of the guys who post here do as well. This may end up as a never-ending post….

I’m with you and Kry. 51-3 is easily my favorite Bills game of all time.

I am only 25, so here goes....

Listening to the Comeback game with my brother and dad in the basement

Super Bowl XXV – I taped it and watched the whole thing… taped over it later, though.

Music City Miracle which nobody has said yet…

I also remember a couple of years ago beating the Pats 31-0 to open the season and getting my hopes up for something that would never come. Schobel forcing a sack on Brady that TKO takes back for a TD.

I'm old so here is mine...

…and I was there too.

Opening day, 1980. Bills vs. Miami. The Day The Streak Ended. The fans tearing down the goalposts and walking them up the steps of the stadium to the owner’s booth to symbolically lay them at Wilson’s feet. The Bills would start that season 5-0, end up 11-5 and head to the playoffs for the first time after the malaise of the mid-late-70s, losing in San Diego while Ferguson was playing with a broken ankle suffered two weeks earlier in New England that he didn’t tell anyone about.

The Comeback is #1.
Also
Roland Hooks Hail Mary catch against New England
Playoff win against NYJ clinched by Bill Simpson interception
Joe Ferguson outueling Marino 38-35 in Marino’s first start
Cornelius Bennett’s first game
51-3 playoff win over Raiders
MNF win against SF with no punts

On the negative side:
1980-81 playoff loss to SD
“Just give it to him” game against NE
Two other famous playoff losses that I still can’t refer to by name

Thanks for tomorrow 'cause I've had enough

Great calls here...

I forgot about Playofff win against the NYJ, Fergie’s TDS, Biscuits 1st, and the no punt game. Should also throw in the Houston shoot out with that.

Also forgot to add division clincher against the Jets, with those goalposts coming down too.

SD loss was a killer.
