No Film Sessions Tomorrow
Hey Rumblers,
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that there will be NO film sessions tomorrow, as we usually do on Tuesdays. Like the Bills, I'm going to be taking advantage of the bye week.
It wasn't for a lack of trying. I watched four plays. You might guess at which play I shut off the DVR and called it a night. (Get well soon, Trent.)
The film sessions will definitely be coming this week, but since it's the bye week, I'm going to try to spread them out a bit more and generalize on some more things that we've seen in the first five games. We've got time to break things down a bit more in-depth than usual, so I'm going to take advantage of the break.
But not tonight. I was eating my dinner when I watched Trent get hit again, and I must say I rather lost my appetite. I can't put myself through re-watching this game... not yet.
I'll have a couple of posts up for y'all to discuss tomorrow as usual, but no film reviews. Please don't blame me. :)

You lazy son........
just kidding.
You deserve the break. We all probably needs to take some time away from that game.
We still love you man!

I don’t think there’s much to learn from it that we haven’t already griped about….terrible blocking in the run game and pass protection, no pressure on Warner, CB’s off the line giving up the underneath stuff, Losman playing like Losman, no defensive adjustments and so on….
I wouldn’t fault you for totally scrapping the film of this one….

Yep he is
Take away the BOMB to Lee and then what do ya have? Is there any part of the QB rating equation that takes into account for the QB taking UNNECESSAY sacks from holding on to the ball for too long? Com’on, he’s just NOT our savior @ the 2nd QB spot. Face it alreday!

Is there such a thing as a “savior at the second QB spot”? I’d submit there isn’t. I’m not sure what you people expect out of a second quarterback, but we ain’t getting Trent Edwards-level play, that’s for sure.

Oooooops on the Savior Comment
Poor wording on my part for sure! I was in a hurry while posting.
I for one was ALL for keeping JP as our #2. I figured he knows the system, personnel etc….. and he would be our best option for us there. WoW!!! Was I wrong! He’s still the same JP of old in my book.
We NEED a vet backup and say good bye to #7 and move on. That experiment didn’t work out whether he was the starter, or the backup for that matter.

Do I really have to list all the backup QBs who have played so well
that they have convinced other teams to give them big money to be their starter? How about just one….Rob Johnson. That is what I want, a backup who plays like he deserves to be the starter.

our savior...no
but a good backup QB absolutely. Yes he definitley holds onto the ball to long on occasion but isn’t that what TE did when he took that hit? Those sacks were mostly due to the O line not giving him any time to throw the ball. In the second half Arizona rushed everything but the kitchen sink and the O line just let them in.
take away the bomb and he still had a good game considering….
take away TEs long passes to Evans the first four games and what’s his QB raing look like??
JP made that play by avoiding a heavy rush and stepping up in the pocket why would you want to take it away, Maybe if TE had better pocket prescence he could have avoided that hit.

No more JP vs TE threads PLEASE!
Trent Edwards IS the starting QB for the Buffalo Bills, like it or not. Live w/ it already!
If JP was as GREAT as you claim, how did he LOSE his job to a ROOKIE???
Enough said here!

I never said JP was GREAT
all I’m saying is that many people want to blame Jp for this loss when he acctually played a decent game in a tough situation. TE is most likely the better of the two but not by all that much, at least if you look at the stats that is. I like TE and I think he can be a great QB for years to come if and this is a big if right now…the O-line starts playing a lot better.

No. Trent got rid of that ball quickly. Wilson came in untouched.

maybe we should try the direct snap to Lynch,
then have Lynch hand the ball to Edwards if it is safe? No…Lynch has been getting hit enough :-)

Thanks again, Brian
I listened to the game until the 4th quarter when AZ intercepted JP, up 41-17. That did it for me…I couldn’t take any more.
Enjoy your mini break – you deserve it!
Get the Bills back to the big game!
