A look at our Monday Night Showdown for Redemption
Yes-I want revenge in this one! That game last year was as dull as can be, and im hoping with a victory that it spins us in the opposite direction and out of this downward spiral! Then again I hope this downward spiral does'nt continue. Now we know that the weather is'nt looking that great for this one and that Trent so far has never played well at all in bad weather(he has'nt played all that good lately in good weather)-Im hoping he throws for 5 Touchdowns and looks like a star out there but im not betting on it. The Browns are also well rested since they played their last game the previous thursday and had sunday to sit back and watch us!(bad memories) And do not be fooled by their record-this team has a new quarterback that could jump start this high powered offense that was predicted to be one of the best in the game after their surge last season!
Last week against the Broncos, the Browns did look good and I know they gave up a fair amount of points along with 449 yards through the air and Eddie Royal burned them deep for a 93 yard TD reception so Lee Evans should be looking to do the same, But most teams do give up their share of points to the Broncos pass happy offense, The Browns defensive scheme is based out of the 3-4 defense which has lately been our achilles heal, and hopefully this week our coaching staff has finally put together a different game plan than the prior 3 weeks to combat it!(congratulations guys-it's about time)
We need to look out for D'Qwell Jackson-he's the most fiery playmaker they have on that defense and currently leads the league in tackles! Shaun Rogers is also quietly having a very productive season clogging the running lanes with 47 tackles and 4 sacks. At corner 2nd year player Eric Wright is leading the way with 3 interceptions and has returned one back for 94 yards-so we know if he gets his hands on it he can go the distance, and scouring the middle will be underrated safety Brodney Pool who can hit-and create turnovers with his instincts in coverage. Their biggest threat as a pure pass rusher is Kamerion Wimbley who has not had a good season thus far getting to the quarterback but has applied pressure all season(remind you of someone we miss?)-and had a sack last week against the broncos. Overall the Browns defense has created turnovers and has a plus 4 difference in turnover ratio to their opponents, but we should be able to put up a lot of yards on these guys and move the chains since their Defense yields the 27th most yards allowed in the league and does not have any particular strong point. WE CAN MOVE THE CHAINS and better consistently against this Defense!!
We all know about Josh Cribbs and their return game being very dangerous so enough said-Lets get him down quick and keep him and the field position contained!
On offense it will be a bit of a mystery as Brady Quinn has taken over and only had one start so we don't have much film on him to know his tendencies other than from last thursday night and in college, we do know that he was very good in his first start and did'nt make any mistakes, he threw for 2 TD's and was very accurate and would have looked better had it not been for some bad hands by Kellen Winslow and dropped balls. Now overall they're loaded at the skill positions with Braylon Edwards, Winslow and even more so that Donte Stallworth is now healed up and starting-we know he is one of the best run after catch recievers in the league so lets hit him hard and quick! Jamal Lewis had a very good game against us last year and we know what to expect from him and having snow on the forecast only caters to his smashmouth style-(Jamal Lewis I'd like to introduce you to Marcus Stroud and Paul Posluzny. Other than that we know that the left side of their O-Line is very good with 2nd year player-3rd overall pick and probowler Joe Thomas, and also Eric Steinbach(who we should have signed in free agency instead of Dockery for the same amount of money)There O-line unit as a whole has ONLY GIVEN UP 11 SACKS on the season .
I can't wait untill monday night-even though I wont be at the game I can still get a feel of the atmosphere and it's a rush under the lights of that big national stage!
Go Bills-Fam1ly F1rst!
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Quinn
I think its important for us to fix our inability to stop the short passing attack. Against the Broncos Brady Quinn didn’t do a thing except dump the short passes off to Winslow and the running backs; of course, he did this well. But we can’t let that beat us.
On offense we can establish a ground game early if Rogers isn’t playing, once we do that its time to throw. This game will be tough but we will win.
McKelvin and Hardy - rookies of the year
Well said poz, Thats also what im thinking, im really getting tired of watching our corners play so far off the line these past 5 games, leaving everything underneath wideopen and seeing it kill us time after time and wondering when Fewell is gonna change things up and make some adjustments to counter it!
These are a few things I was thinking about and would like to see addressed on monday night!
First things is the Bend but do’nt break and hope the other team is’nt very good today defensive philosophy of Fewell and Jauron!
Our defense has been a problem with not getting pressure on our opponents QB as always is! We are leaving the underneath routes open since the Cardinals spanked us and since then every team every team we’ve faced has followed what they did, and it has NOT been addressed and we continue to play our corners nearly 10 yards off the line and leave it wide open for them to kill us underneath!
At the same time our Offense is equally responsible since we have terribly predictable play calling and also a huge lack of using many plays that are often used by every other team in the league! Our O-line is the worst in the league and im sure most would agree on that, Edwards has played pretty lousy and is showing a propensity to panic and constantly dumping the ball off, never hitting any targets over the middle, and we all know about the turnovers over the past 4 weeks and the fact that since he came into the league he has the lowest TD percentage of quarters played of any QB in the NFLso he is not immune to responsibility in what ails us-at the same time I respect his leadership in stepping up to the plate and admiting it!
Our running game is anemic and while it has’nt gotten a lot of chances to get things going with a lack of attempts-it’s not a total excuse for them either.
More than anything we all need to realize that one thing not being good is a chain reaction and effecting every other part of this team! The O-line not playing good and poor blocking-No holes for our RB’s, No running game established-Nothing opens up for our recievers and Edwards since they drop back so many in coverage and vice versa, Turn the ball over to our opponents-our defense is constantly on the field and getting worn down. The most important thing in all of this is our poor and terribly predictable play calling that is hindering this whole team and I so much hope to see many new things from Schonert on monday-Tosses,sweeps to the outside instead of constantly up the middle, Get Marshawn more touches, play action and also more passes over the middle, and many more attempted passes that go for more than 3 to 7 yards as I so much want to believe that Edwards is not a dink and dunk quarterback! Lets hope for something new, surprising and great on monday night:)
I just found out the Hardy might not be a go this monday night, but if so I look forward to seeing Stevie Johnson get some oppurtunities as I think he has done everything he can with every chance he’s gotten so far and am a big believer in him. I think he was one of the most big game clutch WR’s in the country last season in college!
