Why does this team get so many injuries?
The past few years have been brutal.
Is it dumb luck?
Is it a pansy training camp?
Is the training staff subpar?
Poor conditioning?
Poor technique on the field?
All of the above?

You forgot an option: Undersized lineup. I’d vote for that.

Kawika Mitchell is a leader. He will help this young team develop.

Yeah, but...
the same foot issue for both Schobel and Youboty? I don’t think that comes from being a bit smaller, does it?

It’s not the same foot issue. Schobel’s got a hairline fracture in his toe. Youboty has plantar fasciitis.

I thought Schobel had a torn ligament in his toe. Not that it really matters, but…

Yeah, you’re right. I mixed it up. Lo siento. Still not the same foot injury, though…

I've read that Schobel's injury is similar to Freeney's.
If that be the case, for the rest of this season he would be a wounded duck out there.

I think it is a combination of things
1- Undersized lineup is the biggest, when you surrender height and weight, over a 4 month schedule, you just get beat up.
2- Conditioning is part of it, some of these injuries could be avoided with more vigorous off-season workouts, others are actually caused by it. Plantar fasciitis is often found and occurrs in people who exercise ALOT, like Pro athletes. We just may be missing the sweet spot for that, of course, if the whole team was in Buffalo all off-season we would know that season really easily wouldn’t we?
3- Dumb luck, things happen, and they will. Murphy’s law rules the football field quite handily.
4- Poor Techinique, in the case of Whitner, he is known for being somewhat of an arm tackler when he is out of position, and I think that was one of those cases when he hurt his shoulder. The fundamentals of football has been decreasing steadily in the NFL and College. HS ball is still pretty solid, but ESPN and their attention to the big hit has killed form tackling pretty much at the two highest levels.
5- Things we don’t know about, I vote for Aliens here, who hate the Bills for whatever reason and injure our people when no one is looking.

lol....
I’m with you Joe. A happy ending for everybody.
As far as the injury thing, I’m just glad we got Chambers back last week, and That J “I can play” Reed is back. Hopefully we’ll get to see McLovin play even better in coverage than we did on Monday.
And I’m a tiny bit peeved at Whitner for rushing his way back into the lineup. I mean, I know he wanted to provide a boost against his home town squad, but he may have potentially hurt us more than he helped.

well
these are not excuses if they lose to KC or SF. It’s pathetic. This team is more than talented enough to win these games if Trent & Turk get a clue and lee evans finds some fire inside his $9 million a year piggy bank. STEP UP. I’m calling out EVERY STINK’N OFFENSIVE PLAYER. HAVE SOME PRIDE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. THEY are SO FRIGGN PATHETIC! Score LESS THAN 23 against KC, and Marshawn doesn’t get 100 yards, and this entire offensive staff and personnel should be fired

The curse of Mularkey lives on
I believe he is the one who fired Rusty Jones, the Bills best ever strength and conditioning coach, to bring aboard his buddy. The Bills under Rusty were in phenomenal shape for decades and seemed to avoid the 17-man IR seasons. Rusty is doing well with Chicago Bears. Mularkey today? Doing well in Atlanta especially running the freakin’ ball..wassup with that!
I could use an ex-Jill deep tissue massage right about now myself. How about this for an idea: ex-Jill Shiatsu right at the stadium to relieve the stress caused by the team’s on field performance…I think that Ralph owes us at least that.

No, what Ralph owes us is an owner who will keep the team in Buffalo after he dies. But, seeing how we aren’t going to get that, I might as well take a shiatsu massage.

What's this crap about massages from ex-Jills?
Is there something wrong with the current Jills?

Another list, this one to defend the trainers
I think the Bills injury woes are overstated. We currently have 6 players on IR and a couple of them (Baker and Buggs) are irrelevant to the team’s successs. The Bills also have 3 players who didn’t practice and two who were limited and are questionable.
I checked NFL.com and here is the list of every team and their injuries. The first number is players on IR and I put the players who were expected to be starters in parenthesis. The second number is players who have been ruled out for this weekend’s game or are doubtful. The third number is players who are questionable.
ARI – 3(1) – 0 – 3
ATL – 6(0) – 3 – 10
BAL – 14(4) – 1 – 7
BUF – 6(1) – 3 – 2
CAR – 3(0) – 0 – 0
CHI – 2(1) – 3 – 1
CIN – 12(3) – 9 – 1
CLE – 7(3) – 1 – 6
DAL – 4(2) – 2 – 2
DEN – 11(2) – 5 – 1
DET – 9(3) – 5 – 2
GB – 5(0) – 2 – 2
HOU – 9(1) – 2 – 3
IND – 8(2) – 1 – 6
JAX – 10(2) – 2 – 1
KC – 6(2) – 4 – 1
MIA – 6(1) – 1 – 0
MIN – 7(1) – 1 – 4
NE – 10(4) – 3 – 5
NO – 13(6) – 2 – 1
NYG – 7(1) – 0 – 2
NYJ – 4(0) – 2 – 2
OAK – 9(2) – 3 – 2
PHI – 2(0) – 1 – 2
PIT – 9(2) – 3 – 1
SD – 3(1) – 2 – 1
SF – 6(2) – 3 – 0
SEA – 10(2) – 1 – 3
STL – 10(3) – 5 – 0
TB – 6(1) –
TEN –
WAS -
I think a lot of people are comparing the Bills injury problems of the last couple years to the Bills injury situations of the past couple decades and that doesn’t really work. The NFL has changed, players are bigger, stronger and faster and more players get hurt every year. The Bill’s injuries are typical for today’s NFL and our problem isn’t the trainers or the amount of players that get hurt, its that we have lost some of our more valuable guys and we don’t have the depth or overall talent to cover up the loss of a few key players.

oops accidentally hit post
If anyone cares the rest of the list goes:
TB – 6(1) – 1 – 3
TEN – 1(0) – 4 – 2
WAS – 4(2) – 1 – 3
Just to be clear, the entire point of the list was to point out that the Bills aren’t any more unlucky than your average NFL team.
