Vince, please tell us something we didn't know
"Wilfork started his meeting with Goodell admitting a hit to Buffalo Bills quarterback J.P. Losman last season was a cheap shot."
Maybe this will light some fires in our locker room for next week's game...

Greer O.K.
Also, in the Whitner separated shoulder post i put that Greer is o.k.
its on Chris Brown blog “blogs.buffalobills.com”
according to DJ he is fine….which is good because we need him with Whitner out.
I’m not 100% certain, but I can’t imagine that many guys going to bat for Losman this week….That hit helped our current QB get into the lineup and learn on the job.

A guy admitted to a dirty hit on a member of this team. It’s not typical locker room fodder, but it’s worth mentioning. Especially since he denied it was a dirty hit last year.

With all the cheap shots
from Vince over the years, I’m surprised no one has taken one back at him. From any team.
everything goes better with bacon
yea but if nothing else it could be a little fuel. something to go after thats for sure.
If nothing else we have a good nickname for Wilfork now

I would have normally objected to this comment very strongly. A member of your team is a member of your team, and regardless of how it turned out it IS your starting QB. Is it OK to intentionally injure a Bills starting QB, no matter how much kool aid is drunk?
But frankly, after reading Whitners comment pushing the blame on the loss at Ari from the defense to JP, I have no idea whats going on on that team.
Not sure I want fires in the locker room
At this point, I’d guess that Trent and Marshawn would end up with third degree burns.
Yes, I know the fires are metaphorical. I stand by my prior statement.
John Madden told me 90% of the game was half-mental...

IF
this team needs a lame statement from last year to get fired up then they are TOAST!
How about the idea of getting fired up because the Patriots smoked them twice last year and have owned them for the last 8!
How about just having a little pride and playing with some passion!!
I think this entire discussion came with the idea that we were speaking of extra motivation.

I understand that, but come on this is pretty weak fodder for the locker room wall. This team should not be having a problem geting fired up considering they have there best chance in years to make a post season appearance. That should be all the motivation they need.
No one’s saying it isn’t…

No one’s saying they are. I think the Bills will actually play well in this one, because honestly, who’s expecting them to beat New England? Pressure’s off.

"Maybe this will light some fires"
acctually I think you are Brian.
no pressure, you have got to be kidding. If they lose this game there season is pretty much over.
I expect them to beat NE. They can do that.
no pressure, you have got to be kidding
Yeah, pressure was the wrong word. I know that all of the expectations of a 5-1 start, on a personal level, are out the window. So, at least from my view, I have no expectation either way for this Bills/Patriots game. I could see them winning, I could see them losing, but for the first time in a while, I won’t be shocked either way. I’m shocked we lost to the Dolphins and Jets.

Can't believe everything reported on ESPN
ESPN initially reported that during the meeting and after reviewing that play with the commissioner, Wilfork admitted to Goodell his hit on Losman was a cheap shot. Yesterday he issued a statement through his agent repudiating that report.
“After a very productive and fulfilling meeting with the NFL commissioner, it was inaccurately reported by ESPN that I stated that the hit on Buffalo Bills quarterback J.P. Losman last season was a cheap shot,” said the statement. “I did not say that. I am not that type of player and would never intentionally try [to injure] a fellow NFL colleague”
Keep the faith!
I am not that type of player
Oh, Vince, don’t make me laugh.

No, it has a lot more to do with my own two eyes, actually. Like it or not, that hit on Losman was dirty. Not that we mind, of course, considering hindsight is 20/20 – that hit got Edwards into the lineup and onto our radar.
