Hall

With the raiders cutting deangelo hall should the bills go after him? i kno mcgee is not a 100%, youbouty is hurt (idk how long till hes better) and greer becoming a free agent that leaves a necessity.  Now i am not sure whether i would or would not want him on the team. hes a great cb but hes goin to cost a lot and b a roster spot which i dont know who wed drop.  it was just an idea and im throwing it out there

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

gotta roll with no...

Dude’s been getting torched this year, and I never felt he was worth the $70mil Oakland signed him for. He would cost too much $$$ for him to come here, and honestly, I think we should throw dollars at Greer. He fits the mold of players that the bills want here. Hall can a be cancer.

Hall can a be cancer.

Can be? Haha. More like IS. Why else would he be cut now? Well, except for the fact that he stinks…

To Save Money

Hall Got cut because of his 70 mil tag and the fact Oakland wants to rebuild. He was one of the best players on the team.

And I think in a better system Hall could do well-he’s better than some of our options right now, that’s for sure. I don’t know how the contract stuff works though-if we’d have to pay his 70 mil, or if we could offer him something else at this point. But for the right price Hall is a nice option.

Hall was waived. That means that every team has an option to pick up the rest of his contract (other than signing bonus money). Hall will certainly clear waivers and when he does he will be a free agent with the right to negotiate with any team.

Are you part of his agent team?

Hall is a bum. I’d rather have sireric as my 70 million dollar CB. At least I know he’d be good in the locker room.

I don’t know if I have the wheels to play CB, but for 70 mil, I would sure try!

With you as my DT, we’d get that locker room fired up!

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

Yeah, this definitely isn’t happening. We’ve got enough corners… we just need our rookies to play better.

If Hall played DE or C I would say yes. CB, no thanks

Not for Hall dude has been good and may flourish in our system but hes not worth the money and the trouble

by Parrish11rules on Nov 6, 2008 6:52 AM EST reply actions

don't be surprised

to see the Patriots pick him up. I always wonder about players on the raiders just hating to play out there and just tanking on purpose so they can leave AKA Moss.

hell nah!

Deangelo Hall is the most overrated corner in the league and has been for his whole career. His Pro Bowl status just goes to show how ridiculous a farce it truly is. Besides both our starting corners are better and more consistent than Hall. He’s a combine guy with poor technique and ball skills but had all the straight line speed in the world coming out of college

We need a backup LB more than we need another CB…

Get the Bills back to the big game!

No Thanks

Hall might have literally been the worst starting CB in the league up to this point. He plays across from Asomugha who might be the best starting corner in the league and teams have been just picking him apart. According to the article on NFL.com:

In his eight games in Oakland, Hall was beaten 40 times for 552 yards on 66 passes thrown his way, according to data compiled by STATS LLC. He gave up more yards than any defender this season and was tied for third worst in catches allowed.

He is a solid tackler and is pretty decent in zone coverage, but he isn’t worth the paycheck some other team will be willing to give him, nor is he worth the headache being a player who talks too much and takes stupid penalties.

well.....

I’m not saying we should pick him up but in defense of Hall, he probably got burned for the most yards out of any defender and allowed so many catches precisely because he was playing opposite Asomugha. Any corner would be crazy to want that job. Teams never throw it to Asomugha’s side of the field, I think he’s been thrown at just over ten times. That’s ridiculous. Of course Hall is going to get burned, he has more opportunities to get burned on.

That said, he is inconsistent and a headache, and overrated.
