Trent Edwards returned to practice today and will start Sunday's game at Denver if no complications arise. If he cannot go, Gibran Hamdan will get the start. Either way, J.P. Losman is now unequivocally our #3 quarterback. Rejoice!

Yeah, just got back from over there. You could have answered him if you wanted to – any Rumbler is welcome to leave their thoughts over there. :)

To be fair, we share it 50/50.

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

this

is good news. The kid needs to play in 2 cold weather games and it will help immensely heading into next year. I’m sure he’ll be rusty but if our coaches know anything, they know that denver sucks against the run. I’d bring up Omon and if Lynch is banged up, run lynch, jackson and omon all game. Run it 35-40 times between em. Heck, why not?

Just glad our Captain and future of the franchise is back and also that he loves his coach as much as i do

We've been saying run the ball 35-40 times for the last 2 months.......

I doubt Turk reads BR………although he should…..because then he’d be a bad ass OC…..the type that even the Ninja Turtles would be proud of.

YAY HAMBONE!

But, let me be straight about this, I want Hamdan to start ONLY if Trent can in no way play even a quarter of football. Glad JP is #3, he better get used to that spot on the bench, he’ll be warming that for the rest of his career, unless Detroit decides to have a “Useless big arm QB” competition this offseason between him and Culpepper.

Now if only this gopher could play DE, we would be doing better, I mean, who couldn't play better than the corpse brothers Kelsay and Denney?

by WABillsfan on Dec 17, 2008 4:55 PM EST reply actions

Losman should be a healthy scratch for Omon.

While we’re at it, i’d LOVE to see Demetrius Butler get some work during these next 2 games.

Jackson and Lynch

I think Jackson or maybe lynch would be the emergency QB. We know what they bring to the table at RB so they don’t need touches there, they won’t be easy to sack, they’re a step up from JP in areas like “decision making” and “holding on to the ball,” and Denver would have no clue as to how to handle them.

I do like the idea of giving time to guys like Bell. I’d like to see a lot of Fine and Johnson, with Leo getting most of the snaps on D. I hat to say it, but at this point we really are better off playing for next year.

by Hopefulcynic on Dec 18, 2008 12:29 AM EST up reply actions

They won't be easy to sack? Of course they won't be.

Because that would mean that they were on the sideline the whole game. Why in the hell would you bench your starting or second string RB so that you can leave JP in street clothes?

by twoeightnine on Dec 18, 2008 11:33 AM EST up reply actions

To clarify

The Third QB is a gameday roster exemption and he can only play if the first two QBs go down. Once the Third QB goes in, neither of the first two QBs can play the rest of the game. What will happen is that spot will be Losman’s. You want them to replace that spot with Omon but it can’t be done.
