Bills-related things to be thankful for on Christmas
Editor's note, by Brian Galliford: Couldn't have said it better myself, poz. Happy holidays to every Rumbler out there, and thanks a million for making every day I blog at Buffalo Rumblings an incredibly enjoyable experience. Merry Christmas! End Note
Despite our failures this season, in the spirit of the season there are a few things about the Bills we should be thankful for:
1. TRENT EDWARDS - The JP Losman era is over and we should be thankful for that alone. Even more, this kid is going to take us places. He is cerebral, has a quick release, and is a true leader. The team obviously loves him and he wants to be in Buffalo and make this team his own.
2. MARSHAWN LYNCH - Can we stop calling this guy overrated? He is a hustler, plays to have fun, and never goes down. I went to school in the New York City area and people said the same things about Brandon Jacobs that some are beginning to whisper about Marshawn here. He may be tough, he is a bulldozer but he's overrated. They don't say that anymore. I think we forget how young Marshawn is. Once we get a center and he really learns to hit holes and the proper ones harder, we will have a lot to be thankful for.
3. YOUTH - Our team is young and they are all coming in together at a time when the team does not yet have an identity. This means they have the opportunity to develop their own identity and run with it. I am very thankful for this, especially after watching the Jets spend millions upon millions of dollars to get to the playoffs now and they may yet miss their chance. The Patriots are on the wrong side of history, the glory days are likely over (especially after missing another chance with Tom Brady this year) as they have aged beyond their prime. They'll still be the team to beat with Brady back next year, but they won't be an impossible team to beat anymore.
4. A CHANCE TO BRING THE PATS AND DOLPHINS DOWN WITH US - I think the Jets are going to beat the Dolphins; I just don't see Brett Favre losing a game of this importance at home. If we beat the Pats we can catapult the Jets to the playoffs. I don't know about you guys but as much as I hate the Jets they don't even come close to reaching the level at which I hate the Dolphins (for obvious reasons) and the Patriots (who have smacked us around for what is a streak that I can't even count anymore).
5. GREAT DRAFT CLASS/FA CLASS - This off-season looks to be an active one and one in which there will be tons of talent, both in the draft and free agency. For a young team looking to fill some immediate needs, this is something to be grateful for.
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Merry Christmas to all,
and to all a good NAP!!! I am waste deep in wrapping paper and plastic packaging!!! The kids have finally settled down enough to actually start playing with some of the toys. I just finished my third mimosa, and am taking advantage of momentary secession of chaos.
As others have said, thank you to Brian, Kurupt, sireric, jri111, Ron for NM, and all of the excellent Bills fans who post here.

Now if only this gopher could play DE, we would be doing better, I mean, who couldn't play better than the corpse brothers Kelsay and Denney?

Edwards quick release
People bring up his wuick release as his #1 positve which shows a lack of others, Edwards has a quick release because he’s not looking at his WR’s route progression and instead looking to dumo it off as quick as possible completely ignoring his wide outs who run beyond 10 yards! Merry Christmas to everyone!
A quick release doesn't mean that he throws the ball quickly.
It means that he doesn’t have a long looping throwing motion. Once he picks a target he gets it out quickly.

I'm not sure
if I call what you describe as “quick release”, but Edwards does throw the football before the receiver reaches the end of the route or when he sees the receiver completely open (which is what JP does). You rarely see a WR completely open in the NFL, even if he is, by the time the QB throws at him it will be double covered. That’s why JP always dump off to the backs out of the backfield, because he never was able to find a completely open receiver downfield.
Conversely, Edwards anticipates where his receivers will be and throws the football. Case and point is the bomb he threw to Fred Jackson against Denver. When he threw the ball, Jackson was actually 2 steps closer to the line of scrimmage than the LB covering him, but by the time Jackson caught the ball he was open by 3 steps. If Edwards threw the ball after Jackson got open, the safety would have covered him.
