The fact Jauron acknowledged the other day that he never considered switching quarterbacks this year should be an insult to every sucker who believed that they were serious about the playoffs.
Bucky Gleason: Why stay committed to Edwards?. I don't even have words to encompass the stupidity of this argument.

Oh, for the love of…
Jeez I don’t know, why would D.J. consider putting in a QB who has stunk since he’s been here, and demanded a trade? It’s a given that J.P. isn’t here next year so why wouldn’t D.J. try to develop his QB?
What a dope.

I'll add more
Lets take the future of the team, (because have no doubt that is exactly what Trent is) and put him smack in the middle of a QB controversy, because we as Bills fans haven’t seen too many of those over the last few years.

As I said… I couldn’t summon the words to encompass the stupidity when I read it, and 2 hours later, I still can’t. Give me 2 years, and I STILL won’t be able to. I get that Gleason is a shock jock of a writer, but this is one of the dumbest things I’ve read in a long, long time. And I’m a blogger.

DUMB
This Bucky Gleason guy is obviously an idiot. Trent is the man for the Bills QB job. I saw, as did the whole NFL the reasons why JP is not the man for the job. And yes hes gone, Trent needs to be developed. It took Eli, and many other quarterbacks 2-3 years to become the players they are now. Be patient

why weren't you patient with Losman
Gleasons article shows the stats for the 2 Qb are identical. Why is this a rediculous premise, Edwards has sucked for all but about 6 quarters of football this year, he has yet to beat a decent team. Sure Losman is gone at the end of the year but the Bills have got to win these last 4 games and an injured Edwards just isn’t going to get that done.
I don’t know how old the rest of the bloggers on this site are or how long they have been Bills fans or what they know about football but it really boggles my mind that they seem to all be not just in favor of Edwards but completely against Losman when there is no evidence that one is clearly better than the other. They have both had there good games and bad. Losman had to play many of his games with much less talent surounding him. I suspect that many of those that commented here on this article only read Brians comments and just followed ther fearless leader instead of actually reading the original article and coming up with there own idea.
They both have been screwed by pathetic coaching and play calling. I will say that most of the losses that Edwards had this year were not entirley his fault though he did have some abhorent games and looked completely lost at times. Wether or not Losman would have fared better in those games is of course up for debate but I don’t see how he could have done worse.
I hope for all our sakes that whoever plays in these last four games plays lights outand wins all of them, that will be our only chance of getting to playoffs. Slim chance.

I didn’t post this as an anti-Losman thing, I posted it because the notion that NOT putting Losman in meant that the Bills weren’t serious about getting to the playoffs is unbelievably stupid. I like Losman – have for a long time – and like you, think he got a raw deal. It’s just we have to stick with Edwards now, so that we don’t make the same mistake we did with J.P.

I myself am tired of J.P. He has had plenty of chances and only proven that he isn’t the future of the Bills.
Not only that, but the Bills have had way too many QB controversies over the last decade. Trent is young and has earned the support of the franchise and the fans, all that needs to happen now is for all of us, (fans, OBD, coaching staff and media) to get behind him and support him through the tough times so that he will be that much better in the future…for all of our sakes.
Benching him and putting in Losman is counter produtive at this point.

No argument here. But again, I didn’t post this because of that argument. I posted it because Gleason somehow tied Jauron’s unwillingness to even consider the move to the notion that he doesn’t give a rip about making the playoffs. That’s seriously one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.

I, for one, rarely just follow BG as a fearless leader (although he hosts a darn good blog!). And I’m probably older than you are (I’ve been watching the Bills since the mid-70s).
What Trent has shown that JP never did is the ability not to be flustered by pocket pressure, something that is probably not all that easy to learn (if at all possible). Trent’s biggest problem has been reading 3-4 coverage schemes, and this is directly attributable to poor coaching (probably on the part of the OC). He’s even said that what confuses him the most is when the D the play against is nothing like the D they prepare for (poor game planning on the part of the offensive coaching staff).

must be a slow day at the office.
no sane person would even suggest such a thought. I didn’t think a whole lot of Gleason and now I think even less.

What a great article
I really needed something to laugh about today, and Bucky Gleason provided it.

Well, we all know Gleason is a high level moron
But he did get what he wanted, he got people arguing about this, of course, here its mostly just us arguing about how stupid he is. Sadly, this type of drival still drives newspaper sales and web hits. Thanks Bucky, your king of the idiots for another day, what else is new?

This proves only one thing...
The editors, contributors and majority of posters at BR could do a better job than the so-called professionals at the Buffalo News. I’d apply for a job at that rag myself, but I don’t want to lower my standards.

Mr . Gleason
" what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." (Billy Madison)

Thanks for reading my article
I’ve now kept my job for another day.
Sincerely,

P.S. – If you really want to see me get fired, don’t read a single word I write, or if you do, don’t talk about it or write about it.

That’s not our problem. The News needs to be smarter than that. If they want to turn their publication into a source of idiotic opinions, that’s their prerogative. Our job is to point out that it’s idiotic. I guess in a dying industry, you do whatever you need to do to sell yourself…

Man that’s like the third time today I’ve posted something only to find someone else has already posted the same thing lower down. Yes, the newspaper industry is dying, nearly dead. Network TV is going the same way.
