JAURON IS STAYING

Buffalo news reporting JAURON IS STAYING

http://www.buffalonews.com/home/story/536303.html

Dick Jauron is back as the Buffalo Bills head coach.

Bills owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr. told The News this afternoon that Jauron has a contract extension with the team.

"Dick's going to be retained," Wilson said from his home in Detroit.

Wilson had no further comment on Jauron but the team will be releasing a statement later today.

Jauron's extension is for three years, sources told The News back in October.

Jauron flew to Detroit today to meet with Wilson.

Lets hear it

I am honestly surprised

Marv, you know I wasn’t on the fire Jauron bandwagon but I wasn’t on the retain DJ bandwagon either.

Maybe he will be in the front office. When we have a tenured administrator or teacher who they want to get rid of they promote him or her because of hiring laws instead of firing them…. maybe the same here. We’ll have to wait and see.

by MattRichWarren on Dec 30, 2008 5:09 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

no

he’ll be the HC. maybe Schonert is fired. We’ll see. I’m guessing Levy and the counsel told Ralph you gotta believe that the plan will work. I guess we’ll have to wait and see

Hey atleast I know to temper my expectations going into next year......

no getting all hyped up for me……..and Im content with the Bills gear I have now…..no need to buy anything more to support the pockets of Ralphie

Does it matter? We’ll just trot out another Jauron handpicked OC and have a terrible O. We’ll find ways to lose games we had won, we’ll get smacked around by the better coaches in the league….

Goodbye cruel world…….haha

What a joke. This franchise is pathetic. 7-9 again next year, if we’re lucky.

How in the world can this guy keep his job?

Lame duck coach, next season we’re 3-13 at best.

BREAKING NEWS
Wilson had no further comment on Jauron to The News but the team released a statement today in which Wilson said: “It is well known that I share many of the fans’ dissatisfaction with our offensive game management. That being said, I believe that this team, at this time, is better served by continuity in the coaching staff rather than a disruptive overhaul. The team played hard all year long and there are many positives to build on. This is not to say that we will be complacent. In my discussions with Dick and our senior football people the issues are recognized and I am confident they will be addressed.”

Wilson added, "I believe in the last few years we have gotten close personnel wise and look forward to another strong draft, more ass

ertive veteran leadership and continued improvement from our young quarterback."

by MARVelous on Dec 30, 2008 5:16 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Clueless!!

Continuity in a clueless coaching staff, great decision. This team didn’t play hard all year, if that was the case they wouldn’t have pushed around by Cleveland, SF, the Jets and other crap teams. I’m sick of hearing credit being given to him for the team playing hard, as if it was his doing if they did play hard….

Close personnel wise? You said a few weeks back, Ralphie, that we had no talent….

Can the franchise recover from this? There are going to be a ton of non-renewals for tickets. The fans are fed up and they are handed this heaping pile of #*@. They are going to lose so much money this year….This absolutely stinks. Thanks Ralph…..

Ticket Sales

I’m in Fort Worth and people down here are talking about the ticket sales for the world-class Jerry World 1.3 billion dollar stadium (no comparison, I know) after the Cowboys’ pathetic collapse this season.

I have no faith in this team anymore

This is the lowest I have ever felt as a fan of this team…to completely ignore the thoughts of the fan is a complete slap in the face. Good luck selling out games next year because I know for one wont be duped into paying to see that garbage for another season.

Don't forget to pay the troll toll...

I have

never seen so many Bills fans this irate.

I will say this and I’m sure we’ll get to it more in the next days but they know about the offensive shortcomings. I am guessing changes will be made at OC. The inept gameday management on the offensive side of the ball needs to be addressed. I do think a new OC, and splashes in FA and the draft and come August hope will spring eternal.

They knew about the offensive shortcomings last year. And the year before, and the year before that, and so on. We’ve got the same head coach who can’t outcoach anyone. Why would anybody be confident is this team going forward?

yeah

I can’t argue with you. They are sticking to the course they set out on in 2006. They really believe in it. I don’t know what to say. Offensively is where we suck and will always suck I’m afraid unless Trent Edwards emerges next year

best possible spin on this

If they don’t fire the coordinators, this is the best spin I can put on it.

Yes, Jauron is a bad coach. Yes Turk is a bad coordinator. However Turk is only going to get better with a little experience calling plays under his belt, and the offense showed significant improvement from Fairchild already, and everybody on that side of the ball is only going to get better.

Also, we’re not getting a good coach. Nobody with any other options is going to come to Buffalo as long as Ralph owns the team, because they’re one bad cold away from a new owner and having to move their family to LA and then getting replaced. The situation is too unstable to get a good coach, even if Ralph were comfortable with outsiders. So the positive spin is that Jauron is probably the best we’re going to get.

jesus. I’m making myself nauseous.
