Give Bobby April a 3 game test drive
Listen. There is no way in hell Buffalo can bring Dick Jauron and his completely inept coaching staff back in 2009 ancd that's not up for debate at thios point. Jauron's ineptitude totally transcends the many losses, the bottom dwelling in the standings, the terrible offensive and defensive statistics these last three years, and all the many measurable failures- this team doesn't even show up anymore. Our coaching staff is completely overmatched week in and week out and for a fan base that continues to buy tickets and support this putrid franchise with record season ticket sales, there is no way Wilson can bring this career loser back for a fourth 7-9 season without it being perceived a s a giant middle finger to this starving fan base. Wison needs to pony up and hire the best head coach possible, regardless of compensation. That being said, why not give Bobby April a test drive as head coach as we play out the string, yet again, these next three weeks. Honestly, I'd prefer a proven, winning NFL head coach for the first time since they hired Chuck Knox, but there would be no harm in seeing what April could do if given a chance these next three weeks. One thing's clear, anyone that will not factor into the futurfe of this team shouldn't be involved in these next three games. This includes JP Losman, Duke Preston, Keith Ellison, Robert Royal, and especially Dick Jauron. Let's at ;east use these last three weeks to gain some experience to people who could possibly contribute to a winning team in the future. The proven losers above need to get out of the way now that 2008 is a complete failure like the 8 seasons that came before it.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Ugh. There comes a point when these things don’t need to be said anymore.
One section I’ll agree with:

Except for the Ellison part. He has to play, because the alternative is Jon Corto.

Why? We know for certain that Keith Ellison can’t start in the NFL. What do we know about Corto and Costanzo and the ghost of Ted Lehman? I want to see Hardy, Fine, Demetrius Bell, Reggie Corner, Steve Johnson, Schouman, and all our miniature LBs these next three games. They’ll all be around come training camp in 2009; let’s get them valuable experience, confidence, and time on film for the next coaching staff to review in preparation for 2009.

Keith Ellison will be around come training camp 2009, too. We know he can’t start, but he’s a heck of a reserve. Bigger fish to fry than Ellison, and you mentioned most of them when you said
Hardy, Fine, Demetrius Bell, Reggie Corner, Steve Johnson, Schouman

Ben,
What do you expect to see from April in the next 3 weeks? He does not have time to change anything.
Gameday management
I totally agree that April couldn’t be fairly evaluated in 3 games, but you could certainly take a look at how he handles the clock, coaching challenges, kicking game strategies and all the little things that Jauron doesn’t do well as a head coach. I know Clemson found their head coach vias the interim route and probably the 49ers too just this season. There’s no sense in not taking a look now if you’re going to interview the guy anyway in a couple of weeks. In the least, it gives you something else to consider about a perceived candidate.

Good points but, the 49ers did it early enough for it to make a difference.
If the Bills don’t know April well enough by now to know if he could be the guy, he is not the guy.
Bobby April is a very good special teams coordinator, I don’t see enough reason to take him out of that position. When a team isn’t doing very well, the head coach is blamed. And that is perfectly fair, because the HEAD coach is the HEAD of the operation. However, Turk Schonert is the guy that might need to go.
His offensive game plan today didn’t seem to be very good. Does anyone know what the offensive game plan was? Fred jackson didn’t touch the ball, Marshawn carried it 13 times.
There is nothing that Bobby can do better
in the last 3 games – so why put him in the fire?
He could easily be promoted after the season, giving him the chance to assemble the right staff and then we can judge him on HIS merits and not DJ’s errors. This is not like San Fran where the coach had lost his team and the team needed to get motivated, I think DJ still has the respect of his players and they give a lot of effort. with only a few weeks left to go it would not be fair at all to April to try and evaluate him under those circumstances.
Cowher/Spagnuolo or promote Bobby April.
