I have had enough. Turk Schonert must be the worst offensive playcaller I have ever been witness to in my entire life. I know that sounds like an exaggeration but I do not believe that to be true. The man simply can not call a sound, or rational, offensive game plan.
Yet again, I found myself keeping count of how many times we threw the ball on 1st down. We are so friggin predictable it has become almost laughable. To make matters worse, when throwing on 1st down doesn't work we come out on 2nd down with a no-back, spread formation. We have to have the most telegraphic offense in the NFL, Marshawn Lynch touched the ball SIX times in the first half. Think about that! Even worse, when we do run the ball, the next play Marshawn is being pulled out for the next play.
For the second week in a row I watched our beloved Bills get within the five yard line only to dial up passes instead of giving Lynch the opportunity to pound the ball into the endzone. Considering we have a back who always falls forward, this is unacceptable. Even worse, Losman threw a pick on that play.
On offense we are predictable, we don't run the ball (even when only down by one possession), and we run routes short of first downs when we absolutely need a conversion.
Turk Schonert is embarrasing, he is painful to watch, and has not called a good game all year. He is a shell of what offensive play calling should look like in this league and I hope to God we replace him for next season. In my humble opinion, we missed the playoffs this year because of him. Players can not be expected to perform if their strategic plan is flawed. I am not an angry person, but I hate Turk Schonert because of his stubborn refusal to run the ball. This season, to me, can be defined as teams having enough film by week 7 shut our offense down and make a mockery of our attempts to move the chains. We scored six points in two weeks despite being in the redzone multiple times: enough said, goodbye Turk and good riddance.
