Ralph Wilson says the players are the problem
Wilson disagreed with half of Whitner's evaluation. Wilson suggested the coaching staff was fine, but the players were the problem.
"We haven't got the talent," Wilson said. "We didn't play well. The coaches, they can't go out and kick the ball. They can't go out and tackle. What else is there to be involved?
It comes from Tim Graham's AFC East Blog on espn.com
I feel we do have some talented players, but we definitely have issues with the talent level of some of our team and for sure there are issues with the coaching.

I think both take their fair share of blame. But if I’m a betting man I say this should read, “Jauron isn’t going anywhere” signed Ralph.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

Look in the mirror Ralph…..
The coaches AND the players are the problem, with a heavy lean to the coaches. We’ve been handcuffed by poor coaching for god knows how long now. The Jauron era has been peppered with coaching blunders and overall ineptitude. Week in, week out, our staff is outcoached and overmatched….As bad as Perry Fewell has been at times this year, he has been BY FAR our best coach of late.
I wish they would have made a head coaching change last offseason when it was painfully obvious how little we would accomplish under Jauron…

Bobby April might have a problem with that......
PIPE DREAM: Jim Harbaugh for the Bills next head coach.

I’m not sure it was painfully obvious we wouldn’t accomplish anything under Jauron.
3 major reasons why I feel this way:
1. We acquired better talent in the off season in addition to naming Trent the starting.
2. We had a new offensive coordinator.
3. The Bills started out 5-0.
I’m not saying you didn’t predict our lack of success, you probably did. But I don’t feel that it was obvious, at least to me (I might be stupid though).

What a way to throw your players under the bus.
We just found out right there that things will never change while RW is still the owner.

That quote is just a killer. What kind of player would actively try to play for this crummy organization?? It’s no wonder that it’s so difficult to persuade FA’s to come here.

The more I think about it, the more I can’t believe he actually said that. I better stop thinking about it….

Is he throwing them under the bus, or telling them to start playing for their jobs? If they can’t get motivated for the playoffs, maybe they can get motivated for their paychecks.

The same ought to be said for Jauron, Fewell, and Turk.

yea, I am also very disappointed in Wilson for saying that. I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was probably just really frustrated after the game, and the way the season has gone. I say wild things all the time, so I guess I am a hypocrite too. However, he has been around long enough to know that blaming your players isn’t going to accomplish anything.

Right? What about beast mode? You coulda built a team around the kid. Let’s move forward. The players are going to be better next year, and maybe even the coaches…

Marshawn is a really good player, and an extremely tough player. But, dare I say on a Bills message board…he isn’t really THAT good. He lacks breakaway speed and often does not hit the holes soon enough. Hence why we also use Fred Jackson.
I’m pretty sure the Bills will try to build the franchise around Trent Edwards.

Then this is on Brandon and Marv
Marv’s spit shouldn’t any longer be considered holy grail..

His player personnel moves were very average in his 2 year return…..ok drafts, but nothing that great. free agent moves were highly questionable….
he did help us turn over the roster and at least show us where the right direction might be. unfortunately, I think we’ve quickly turned that ship right around and are headed back towards deeper misery…

I assume you are blaming Brandon and Marv for hiring Dick Jauron to coach our team. Keep in mind that they didn’t bring Dick to Buffalo to be an offensive mastermind, they brought him here to bring stability, and that he has done.
I blame the current organization, so not marv, for promoting Turk Schnoert, a man with no previous NFL game calling experience to call plays for our young QB. It is my belief that the Bills will hire and offensive mind next year. I’ve said this on other posts, I believe the right guys is Josh Daniels. He is the current offensive coordinator for the new england patriots.
FYI: The Patriots gave up a 1st round pick to bring in Bill Belichek. The Bills should be willing to give up something valuble for a great offensive mind like Daniels.

i hate to say it
but this whole thing is a train wreck right now. 4-0, 5-1, 6-7, ouch that hurts. And our division out of all the years, with our soft non-AFC east schedule, this was the year to win 10 games.
I don’t have all the answers. People want Jauron canned cuz they feel at least then something is done. The easiest thing Ralph can do is fire Jauron. Will it solve our problems? Absolutely not.
QB is the issue once again. I cringe at the thought of a new coach, new QB, new “rebuilding” process. however, at this point, I could live with letting Jauron go, but the bigger question is WHO would come in. It’s all very troulbing right now and there are no answers

a new proven offensive coordinator, a new center, and time to develop Trent Edward are the cures for our offense.

I couldn’t agree more:
AFC and NFC South next year – which means -
colts, texans, titans, jags, bucs, panthers, falcons and saints.
yup – very very good teams on that list compare to this year

The longer I am a fan of this mess and the more I look into things and watch other teams play well week in an week out I don’t think we will be in the playoffs until we have a new owner. I know it is a tough subject because of the fact that a new owner would try to move the team but I have faith in what Jim has been saying. I believe he will try to buy the team and keep it in Buffalo. Nobody wants to play for Ralph. He is a lunatic. I hate him.

What a way to motivate
the players. RW threw them under the bus big-time! “We haven’t got the talent”? WHAT? This team as we know it right now has some very YOUNG talented players on it. Do they get all they can out of them? Of course not! It’s not the players play calling etc…. I don’t know if it was to motivate them for their paychecks or not, but I feel it was totally unprofessional & uncalled for. Ooooooooops, I almost forgot WHO I was talking about here, sorry. What an A$$.
If we’re lucky, maybe Jimbo can make something happen w/ this team. I believe that until that happens, or RW passes, it’ll be the same ole thing season in, season out.
Could Bobby April handle the HC? At least he seems to have some fire in his belly. He gets in guys grills and lets them know when they have messed something up and pats them on the back when they do well. He SHOWS EMOTION on the sidelines, be it good or bad. Unlike our curent HC.
It’s tough being a BILLS fan STILL…….

Promoting Bobby April to the head coaching position does not solve our offensive play calling problem. The Bills need to hire a proven and successful offensive mind.

If Ralf doesn't think the coaches need to go,
then we are in deeeeep sh!!!!!!!!!!!! We at least he helped me decide on a new avatar. Geico has come up with a new ad campain for the SuperBowl. “Coaching against the Bills….so easy a Caveman can do it!!!!!!!”

Hope your right, but
don’t put too much into what Wilson said.

Wilson had just sent Jauron to pick up his dry cleaning!

i feel, reasons unknown, that Wilson will bring back Jauron. I hope he doesn’t, but I feel that old fart will bring him back.
