Kris Jenkins on the Block?
From where are we going to get that DT? Maybe Carolina? The Charlotte Observer (http://www.charlotte.com/sports/story/513343.html) has posted that Kris Jenkins might be traded so the Panthers can avoid the $1 Mil roster bonus he's due. He's a pro-bowl caliber tackle who can get into the backfield when healthy. I like him as it sounds less and less likely that we'll be getting Rogers. Thoughts?

I like Stroud but
I like McFarland, but I like the upside of Jenkins more if he can pass a physical. After watching the Giants run up the gut, I really want to see a rotation that can get at the QB fast and consistently. With the opposing O-Line changing its focus to the interior, that can hopefully free up Schoebel, Kelsay, and Denney more. Adding Jenkins to the Williams and McCargo rotation could be something really nifty (yeah, I just used nifty). Rogers would definitely be ideal, but there are too many in that sweepstakes and I fear his price is going to be driven out of our range. I wouldn't mind giving up a second for him I suppose, but I got a feeling Modrak will.
Ultimately, I yearn for the days when we went out and got a Speilman or Paup; when we made plays for guys like the Biscuit (a little before my day but I've heard stories). Does anybody feel will make those kind of moves again? I hope we do it this year.

His role in Tampa
And please, don't mention Booger McFarland as being nimble. Even he would laugh if he heard someone called him nimble.

Three Gap?
Three-technique defensive tackles are typically only responsible for one gap in the line.
In general, defensive tackles are usually classified as either one-technique, two-gap run defenders or three-technique, one-gap penetrators. Shaun Rogers excells at both. That is unique and that is rare.
Which position did McFarland and Sapp play in Tampa Bay's defense? Did they alternate positions? I have no clue.
No, I do not believe that McFarland will help solve the Bills' weakness at defensive tackle.

Stroud quotes from Chris Harris
He's more of a sure thing than some of the other DT's that are out there.
(On why he's being traded) Contract perhaps, he's owed a bunch of money. I think the idea is for nobody to bite on the trade so the team has leverage. 5 mil this season, 5.5 next year, 6 the year after.

Get me one of the 3
The first 2 are probably going to cost a 2nd or 3rd round pick, I'd guess. McFarland is a FA, but is older than the others.
We gotta get one of these available DT's though...
