Love it

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

by sireric on Apr 26, 2008 6:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Can't believe I never asked this question...

Would any of you take Jordy Nelson over Kelly, Hardy, Sweed, or Thomas?

by krytime on Apr 26, 2008 6:37 PM EDT reply actions

Absolutely not. Thomas all the way.

by Brian Galliford on Apr 26, 2008 6:37 PM EDT up reply actions

I'd go

Thomas
Kelly
Nelson
Sweed

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

Funny

Kiper & Berman say Merling should have been a 1st round pick. He was drafted 32nd overall… normally, that’s a first round pick.

by Krenn on Apr 26, 2008 6:40 PM EDT up reply actions

I shouldn't have included him.

I would take Thomas too. But, he’ll go soon…

by krytime on Apr 26, 2008 6:39 PM EDT reply actions

I’ll say now that the Rams would be crazy to not take Devin Thomas right now at 33.

by Brian Galliford on Apr 26, 2008 6:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Gotta admit

Never dreamed that all of them would fall this far…. I’ll be happy with any of the top 3 wide outs at this point…

by Cinga on Apr 26, 2008 6:42 PM EDT up reply actions

???

should we use a fourth and move up now?

General Point

Too many teams have passed on WR for any one of them to be that much better than another. Teams must think 3-5 of them are all the same.

by Berg79 on Apr 26, 2008 6:42 PM EDT reply actions

Avery first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIRST RECEIVER GONE…. and it’s Houston’s Donnie Avery?!

by Brian Galliford on Apr 26, 2008 6:42 PM EDT reply actions

Fastest

WR in draft. Sub 4.4 speed. Rams play inside on turf so it makes some sense, not much, but some.

Reminds me

of our pick of Roscoe Parrish

by RabidBuffalo on Apr 26, 2008 6:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Except for DeSean Jackson

Jackson put up 4.35 speed, and Caldwell is close at 4.37.

by Krenn on Apr 26, 2008 6:44 PM EDT up reply actions

WHAT?

Avery as the first reciever taken? Nobody expected that.

by Krenn on Apr 26, 2008 6:42 PM EDT reply actions

Yes, but what the hell is happening with the WRs? If the Bills get Kelly or Hardy without trading up this has to be considered awesome.

Not sure why people are upset.

The draft has been unfolding nicely. The Bills have lost out on Thomas (one year wonder), Nelson (not elite level speed) and Avery (ugh, sure).

by BeastMode on Apr 26, 2008 6:53 PM EDT reply actions

I am not a happy camper right now

Bills should have sold the #11 pick and taken what we could have gotten for it. I really think we needed Nelson and either Hardy or Sweed.

Yes, let’s see a in-depth study of someone who won’t be drafted for 3 more picks at least – Chad Henne…

Joke of Human is too far

People make bad decisions, have issues and they can change. Hardy has had nothing since 2006, let’s hope he really has turned the page.

He really looks like

he could be the next Randy Moss, in more ways than one. Need a mentor to keep him motivated.

I am off again.

Have fun. I will try to catch up later tonight. We have to be pleased so far. Go Bills!!!!

I'll see ya tomorrow

As far as I’m concerned the draft is over for the day! Yeaaaah baby. Unless they trade up for a tight end. Doubt it. Look for Brad Cottam in the 3rd or 4th. Cinga, if they still get Bowman later I’‘ll be like a kid in toyland. Superfan82 don’t you think the Bills did their homework on Hardy. Did he take your lunch money?

Bills are great at character evals

The last few years they have drafted character. I am going to guess if they really felt character was a problem at this point, he would not have been selected.

Bills had their pick of tall WR's

They had Sweed, Kelly and Hardy available and they chose Hardy. His character concerns are not that big to the Bills brass otherwise they would have gone another direction today. I will trust they got the right guy today and they got the clear #1 corner I would say it is a great day for the Bills. Get a TE early tomorrow and it will be perfect!

My Take

Two good picks by the Bills.

McKelvin will provide some good CB depth and be a dynamic return man until he’s ready. Hardy meanwhile will be a stud in the red zone. His size and speed will be a great compliment to Lee and if the Bills can pick up a pass catching TE this offense will take off. As far as Hardy’s issues go, I’m not worried. His problems have been well profiled and iff the Bills had too many doubts he would not have been picked.

The Bills still need to add a TE and line help both offense and defense.

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.
