Graduation Day

Good morning, fellow Rumblers:

Apologies for the rather light discussion load this week - I've been busy wrapping up my final week as a collegian.  Finals are over and today that process officially ends with my 10AM commencement ceremony.  So while it's been a slow week, I'm a free man after today, so expect discussions to resume a more normal pace next week.

I'd like to thank all of you who have kept this place alive and ticking while I've been off doing other (reluctantly, I'll admit, more important) things this week.  You guys rock.  For your entertainment this Saturday, I'd like to point you in the direction of three interesting discussions that y'all have started within the past 24 hours; again, we'll be back to the normal posting routine tomorrow morning.

- James Hardy's trouble with the law
- Did/do the Bills cheat?
- Should Ruben Brown end his career a Bill?
- Feel free to create your own new discussion in a FanPost!

Congrats!

I feel old. My ten year college graduation reunion will be next year. And look at me! I’m still in my mother’s basement, in my underwear, blogging.

Please make an account and post a diary, add some comments, and make some noise. Accounts are free, and only require an email address.

So it was you

That Costas was refering to.

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

You’re not old, Brad, but you’re clearly still living the dream. The congrats are appreciated, sir.

Now to wish you success in your chosen career….

CongratZ Brian!

The Bills should just hire you to run this blog. It’s good PR move for the Bills. You’ll then get to mix work with pleasure at the same time. Wouldn’t that be fun? A dream job ;)

That’d be fine with me, though I’m pretty sure Nick might lose his mind…

Congrats again, Brian!

Hopefully that wonderful Geneseo education does you good! Looking forward to all the great Bills discussions leading into training camp.

Thanks, Nick. For the record: my speaker was the superintendent of the Rochester City School District. A certain Mr. Schumer gave a nice quick speech as well.

Congrats Brian

Hope your speaker is better than mine (Mrs. Cosby) was!

The real world sucks, so welcome!

Congrats!

Good job Brian. I’m 2 months shy from a M.S. in microbiology & immunology which I’m sure everyone on this site is familiar with! Enjoy the day!

M.S.? Microbiology? Immunology? You’re smarter (and more ambitious) than I… :) Thanks!

Congratulations Brian!

The fact that you run by far the best Bills site, while still in college, is pretty amazing.

by Thronsen on May 17, 2008 2:46 PM EDT   0 recs

Thanks on both accounts, Thronsen.

by Brian Galliford on May 17, 2008 10:34 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Congrats! Enjoy the day! And here is a tip for the next 6 months.

Pay off as much Credit Card and other debt (other than college loans due to their low intrest rates) that you have while your in the grace period of your college loans (6 months).

This will help you out ALOT in the next year. I didn’t do it myself, and then the loans came due and only now, 6 years after the fact am I now able to seriously pay off my debts. So get a leg up on it pronto, your wallet and retirement fund will thank you for it even if you’d much rather go out and party.

Fear the mighty helmet wearing gopher, he is coming for your soul....

Yikes… you, K and sireric make the “real world” sound like a fascinating place. I’m looking forward to it. :)

Congratulations Brian!

As a member of the Triumvirate, I say thanks for putting up with me, and since you’ve shown that you are able to do that, you should be well prepard for anything.

k is right, the real world does suck.

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

by sireric on May 17, 2008 6:26 PM EDT   0 recs

Much appreciated, sireric – now get crackin’ on next week’s trivia… ;)

by Brian Galliford on May 17, 2008 10:36 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Enjoy

Congrats and enjoy the celebration, drink with some buddies and soak it all in, once you hit the work force I think you will come to realize how appreciative many of us are for your excellent blog.

Another 3 rounds of starters in the draft?

by poz on May 17, 2008 7:24 PM EDT   0 recs

June 2 is the big day as far as me hitting the work force. Thanks for the congrats.

by Brian Galliford on May 17, 2008 10:36 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Congratulations Brian

Good luck as you pursue the next milestone in your life, finding a career. The real world does suck, but it has its advantages too. For example, I can’t imagine still living in an apartment, but I spent most of my Saturday staining the deck!

by Joe P. on May 17, 2008 7:45 PM EDT   0 recs

keep on keepin' on

may the work force be with you.

by Benaconda on May 18, 2008 2:28 AM EDT   0 recs

Congrats buddy!

Good luck to you.
