ESPN - Demetrius Bell and Karl Malone

Here's a really good article by ESPN's Jemele Hill about new Buffalo Bill Demetrius Bell and his battle with being Karl Malone's illegitimate child.

Really well written and quite shocking to read about Malone's actions off the court. Makes me love the Bills' pick even more, seems like a stand-up guy and hopefully he'll turn into a great OT, too.

I am rooting for Bell so much now. Not that I wasn’t before (after all, he IS a Bill).

I just can’t imagine having a father that doesn’t acknowlege you or having a son that I don’t care about. Shameful.

Wow Karl took a beating

I know that he has done a ton of charity work and did some great stuff, helping the Katrina victims. But man talk about a crappy father.

The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

Thats the difference between a public and private life

Karl does a ton fo charity work to make people like him, but it turns out the dude is a scumbag to those around him. Sadly, there are a lot of people like him who have money and fame and they act that way. To bad there are so few guys like Warrick Dunn who from all reports is a stand up guy in public and private. I hope Bell makes the team, or at least the practice squad and can come out some day on the football field and make Karl feel like the first class jackass he deserves to be known as for his treatment of his kid.
