Tim Russert Dies at Age 58
Tom Brokaw reporting that his colleague, Meet the Press moderator, and long time Bills fan Tim Russert collapsed and died this morning. Totally shocking--he was only 58, and one of my favorite TV news personalities--kept it straight for the most part and tried his best to never judge. NBC coverage :: CNN coverage
I know Russert loved to shout out the Buffalo Bills during the end of his broadcasts, and he always shared in their angst and heartbreak with every one of us during their lows. He'll be missed.

Just heard
My condolences to his family. He was easily my favorite “talking head” on TV, as much for his professionalism and insight as his Buffalo roots. A terrible loss for the journalism community as well as for his family. You’ll be greatly missed Mr. Russert.

My condolences as well...
Mr. Russert spoke highly of the Bills, and represented the City of Buffalo and WNY very well. He will be missed…

I always thought he actually gave a crap about both sides
He was one of the few people I could watch on tv doing politics and I just knew he would do his best to make sure both sides of a debate/arguement got their points heard even if their opponent didn’t want to hear it.
It is always a shame when someone like he passes on, especially with the political climate as toxic as it is now, he was one of the few people I knew I could rely on to give a fair hearing to everyone and that is a very very big loss at this time.
It is also a shame to lose someone like him from Buffalo since he gives us a friendly face to this city which many people denegrate though it is not as bad as many make it out to be. He will be sorely missed by me and my family.

Big Loss
Tim is a major part of our political and cultural landscape. His loss is significant. But, with respect to the purpose of this blog, Tim was an extraordinary ambassador for our city and our team. I wish he could have seen this election play itself out and even watch the Bills get back in the playoffs.

I cannot imagine
a finer ambassador for the city of Buffalo or the Bills. Always professional, fair to both sides, highly respected. Very sad day for Buffalo.

As a journalism major in college, Russert was one of a very small handful of journalists that I paid attention to, regardless of what he was talking about, day in and day out. The fact that he’s a Buffalonian, and a Bills fan, only adds to the tragedy of his loss. Rest in peace, Mr. Russert.

What a loss
Mr. Russert is someone I have admired and used as a role model in how I lead my life. His book “Big Russ” was fantastic and taught me so much about appreciating life. There is just something so special about the Bills and Russert’s fandom that was on display every Sunday on Meet The Press with his patented show ending “GO Bills!”
I will say a prayer for Mr. Russert and his family tonight…and as Tom Brokaw ended his tribute to Mr. Russert, he said,
“Say a prayer tonight for Tim Russert and tip a cold one back. and Go Bills”
