Perception of Buffalo

Throughout the Bills storied franchise, our beloved organization has strived hard to hold onto "high character" players and part ways with trouble makers and attention grabbers.  Players like Bruce Smith, Steve Tasker, and Jim Kelly not only did great things on the field, but kept their noses clean and held themselves to a higher standard then most.

With the era of Jauron and Levy all around us, the Buffalo Bills have had the same mentality.  Players like Donte Whitner and Brian Moorman are not only All-Pro's on the field but they reach out to the community and set great examples for the younger generation.  This is one area that makes me PROUD to be a Bills Backer, but with the recent Lynch Investigation has our strong moral fiber been shaken?

There's a strong argument to both sides.  On one hand it has taken a small piece away from our "high character" personality and "good guy" mentality.  Lynch obviously knew he was in the wrong after his accident but he didn't confess in the beginning and make the process as short as possible.  Instead, he chose to avoid investigators and string the process along while having fellow players and Buffalo Executives get involved.  If he would've stood up and took the wrap in the beginning would he have been considered admirable and courageous?  We'll never know, we just have to wait and see how the final judgement is delivered.

On the other hand, we have so many good influences around the locker room that our team leaders will take Lynch under their wings and keep him on the straight and narrow.  Now obviously this is the first issue that we've had in quite some time so did it really have that big of an impact?  Maybe...but again we'll have to wait and see what the final court decision is.

Overall, Buffalo has been blessed with great individuals within this organization.  No matter how the Lynch incident turns out, I think we're ahead of the curve because of all the "character issues" we don't have.  I'd much rather have this minor chink in our moral armor then have a cancer in the locker room like TO or Chad Johnson.  Thank you Buffalo for being the greatest moral driven team a fan could ask for!

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.
