Dolphins fans/KoolAid
First of all, thanks to Brian for the weekly AFC East roundup. I appreciate catching up on all the information from our rivals around the AFC East and their point of views. So while I was reading about the Dolphins and what they're up against this season I went over to the Phinsider and had a look.
I think that we, as Bills fans, generally rate the Bills higher than what most publications, tv productions, fans around the league do. Its part of being a fan and a homer. It is often referred to as "drinking the koolaid." However, and this is probably comletely biased, but I thought I should bring it up, the Dolphins fans at the Phinsider are drinking koolaid that has something in it. Whatever they are having, it has some extra kick. I think if you checked out their site and read a few articles you would agree. Especially a newer one touting how they are not one of the worst offenses in the league. They do have a very talented and proven offensive squad. (That was sarcastic.)
Also, for the first time, I am really mad about the Bills playing the Dolphins in Toronto. I am gonna miss not being able to be at the Ralph when the Bills kick their a$$. If you dont agree, check out this fanpost from the Phinsider, Dolphins better than Bills
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

For the record, Fucilli5, that FanPost was a (rather immature, but that’s neither here nor there) reaction to a “Bills fan” on their site who has basically just been trolling, saying the Dolphins suck and the like. It’s rather ugly, and to be honest, I’d rather not get into a flame war between blogs when this is clearly a Phinsider-specific issue.
Lessons to be taken away: don’t troll on other sites. I sincerely hope that troll isn’t a part of this community.

well
You are talking about a Dolphins offense that averaged about a point per game more than the Bills. They also averaged more yards per game, more first downs per game, had a higher 3rd down percentage and a better time of possesion.
I don’t think the Dolphins are better than the Bills either and I think we will get the personal enjoyment of watching that play out.
But to be honest this site can get kind of homer crazy too. Remember that fanpost asking us to predict the Bills stats for the upcoming season. It was littered with wildly over the top expectations. I think the Dolphins fans are homers just like we are (and I actually do check out phinsider from time to time).
Whats wrong with Fucilli's post
Just because we can be civil and mature doesn’t mean as Bills fans we are not entitled to a little trash talking about our rival fins!
The Dolphins have made significant improvements from last season that start with bringing in the Tuna but jeez fellas, its ok to bash the Dolphins, we don’t always have to be so darn polite.
Brian, I’ve seen you on Phinsider defending some pretty aggressive statements those bloggers make about our own Bills on their site. It’s nothing to take offense to and its a natural and enjoyable part of sports.
So I agree with you Fucilli, they are drinking something with some kick to it, because while both our offenses were down right terrible last year we at least have a second year starter going into the season while they still have a QB carousel that could land in any of three different spots. Keep an eye on Ricky though, he used to shred us in the past and I’m not convinced that he’s done, I think if he gets the carries he’ll be dangerous. Luckily, their defense lost Zach Thomas…aside from Jason Taylor (who might still get traded) is there anyone to fear on that defense?
McKelvin and Hardy - rookies of the year
I never said anything was wrong with Fucilli’s post… just trying to give it some perspective.
What did I defend that was out of line?

not out of line..aggresive
I remember when you replied to this, obviously angry and aggressive Fins fan, as was evident by his log in name “feelthepain”. he wrote:
I find it strange that Bill fans…most that I talk to, think they’re gonna be this great team. They could lose Lynch and their running game "wouldn’t suffer greatly"? Explains why they think they’re a playoff team, they could lose Lynch "their best offensive player"! I’ve never in my life seen a group of fans that every year think they’re team is so great that they will make the playoffs even though they haven’t done so in nearly 10 years and haven’t had a winning season in quite some time. I just hope they lose their best RB, WR and QB both times we play them this year so when we beat them we can talk about how we destroyed them even though their best offensive players weren’t on the field for either game.
That one just seemed to stick out to me, but whenever I read the around the afc section on phinsider, which i always do. they just seem to be so much angrier and belligerent towards us then we are towards them. Maybe it has to do with being so bad all they have left is their anger? anyways, just wanted to point out that I appreciate you going on their and responding to their comments every time, because we certainly give Matty I and much easier time than they give you.
McKelvin and Hardy - rookies of the year
it's simple
They are obviously going to hate us more than we hate them. It’s like the way we despise New England, but they are more indifferent towards us. New England keeps beating us so we hate them. We have beaten Miami 7 out of the last 8 times we have played them. We have a good shot of making that 9 of the last 10! Of course they are going to be more angry and belligerent.
That's kind of
the way I used to feel about Miami in the early ‘80’s, to be honest…
Get the Bills back to the big game!
haha
I just read the post over there about the Bills vs. Dolphins garbage. How hilarious that the Dolphins fans are trudging up facts that are due mostly to their success 20+ years ago.
And it’s even funnier than the fans of two teams that have been crappy for so long are arguing over which is the “best”. We both stink! Until one team proves otherwise, there’s no arguing that should be done on the subject!

Dolphins fans can feel free
to have whatever delusions they want about their team or ours. Doesn’t mean I share their opinion, though…
In my opinion, this is probably the best of the 4 AFC East sites on SB Nation. Issues seem to be discussed/analyzed in more depth, and while there is some “rah-rah”, it’s not quite as bad as the other sites. Of course, I am biased as a Bills’ fan, but I don’t believe my comments are that far off the mark.
I typically don’t “troll” those other sites, though, because all the trash talk turns me off. Especially when it has no basis in fact!
Get the Bills back to the big game!
I like going on the other sites
But only when can get into an intelligent conversation. More oftn then not you get seen as an uninvited guest, and are greeted very rudely.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.
I check our rivals sites on occassion and I've found the following
1- The Pats blog is pretty straight forward, they are the best team in the AFC East, the AFC and possibly the NFL and it is reflected in the writing and posting there. And I cannot gainsay it till we knock the Pats off 2 times in a season, heck once in a season!
2- The Jets blog is full of delusional people. I mean, we are Bills homers and believe that they can always do better than they have, but overall, many of us are truly realists when it comes down to it and how our team will do. The Jets fans at that blog are truly out of their minds. They constantly talk about how much better their blog is (which is the refuge of people who know that the groupd they support will implode, or just plain suck). Also they discuss how they will beat everyone in the AFC, while we here look at our division and do the sane math (2 wins vs. Phins, Split with the Jets, lose to the Pats twice).
3- The Dolphins blog outside of their main author is full of people are truly just angry at the world. They suck, plain and simple, and that won’t change for another 2 seasons till the Tuna’s ground work is complete and he gets the ship righted (just like us the past couple of seasons). Next, their fans do not want to let go of Dan Marino and hold it against every player who has played QB there, its a sad commentary when Jay Feidler (forgot how to spell his last name) is getting thanks from Phins fans YEARS after he played because the fans hated him for not being Marino when he was playing (I always thought Jay was a hell of alot better than anyone gave him credit for in a crappy situation).
Honestly, I think the Phins fans problems are simple- Their team sucks, has sucked, and will suck for a while till Tuna fixes it (which he will) and so they lash out with bitterness not seen except in divorce cases.
Fear the mighty helmet wearing gopher, he is coming for your soul....
The Fins fans
are probably also mad because their home stadium is usually filled with a large number of the opposition’s fans. And the fans that they get to “root” for the Fins are how shall we say it…..apathetic and old?

delusions?
....whats delusional is how you guys figure that bills have a chance this year…with a average (at best) qb and no running game (whers marshawn?...in jail?)
thread comment champion
Marshawn’s at home, waiting for training camp, keeping his nose clean. Our running game is fine.

The Bills have a better chance this year then the Fish.
And you should probably know what you are talking about if you are going to come over here and talk smack. Marshawn will be ready for training camp and will not do any jail time.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.
The Phinsider forum and the man in charge, Matty I, is simply the most pathetic bunch of lowbrows I’ve seen in a long time, but we’re wasting our time on those guys. I mean they better prepare themselfes for another 3-13 season, but anyway it’s a pleasure to join the BuffaloRumblings and let’s all hope this is going to be the season for us, so we can laugh at the fishies, when they guaranteed that we wouldn’t make the playoffs.
Vengeance will be served for us

You’re entitled to your opinion, of course, but please understand that I have the utmost respect for Matty I. He’s just as objective as the rest of us when it comes to covering his team, and he’s always been very respectful of us. He’s a good guy.

A bills fan in Denmark?
are you enjoying your six weeks of paid vacation every year?
McKelvin and Hardy - rookies of the year
well
i commented on the post on the phinsided in a very civlized manner. lets check it out
The reason I find Matty I pathetic is that he can’t accept that we all don’t love the Miami Dolphins and that we all don’t share his opinions. Let me give you an example:
Matty I basically bashed the entire Bills team and especially Donte Whitner for making the rather coacky remark: We’re going to make the playoffs.
He said that he shouldn’t make guarentees. Well, guess what? The next thing the guy does is making a guarentee that we won’t make the playoffs. That to me showcases that the guy just is a hypocrite, who either is hands down stupid or a huge homer.
Then when I’m pointing that out and when I’m in a serious manner trying to make my case for why I think he’s wrong and that we’ve a legit shot at the promised land – the playoffs – he banns me from their board and removes my post.
Well, I’m not going to spend one more moment on that dork of his.
I’m attending the University of Copenhagen and studying Social Studies and American Conditions, so Poz I don’t yet have the privilege of payed vacation…

So after reading the phinsider a little more lately, I’m realizing that they are very optimistic over there.
They have a fanpost for every game on their schedule this year and they have a poll up as to whether they will win or not. I noticed that they were voting the Dolphins to win every game so I went back and found the post about the Dolphins playing in New England. There were 52 votes and it was a dead tie. 26 Phinsiders thought NE would win and 26 thought the Phins would pull it out. RIDICULOUS.
