With that being said (and typed), I have somewhat of a concern (an uneducated one at best) with the way the offense is supposedly going to run this year.
Why is Schonert running what seems to be a complicated offense? Why all of the motion? Why all of the change in tempo? Why does Trent Edwards say "It just depends…"
Shouldn’t a young team be focusing on the basics of tackle football? Just like the previous OCs, I’m getting the opinion that Schonert wants to show "how smart he is." Granted, I like how he says he will tailor the offense to Edwards’ strengths. And I like his familiarity with the Bengals teams back in his day. But I just don’t like some of what they will do (or say they will do). Let me explain…
