Frankly Football: Three non-playoff teams that will make the leap in '08
Michael Lombardi, a personnel man with the 49ers under Bill Walsh among other teams, has become one of my favorite writers on SI.com. His insights to the game are fantastic and he often makes observations that aren't completely apparent. I like what he has to say about the Bills in the article. Apparently he is the only national analyst who thinks our offense is going to be good.

Putting it together and some luck
Thats what it boils down to. Stating that we have some of the best “skill” players in the league is no joke. We have some of the best potential around, but they have to put it together on the field, and this year it feels like our best chance yet.
I would like to give Pat Kirwan a call on Sirius NFL (as I do respect his opinion and others on there) and ask him about players’ development their first 3 or 4 years in the league and talk about the strides young players make. The Bills are so young in these skill positions, and frankly all over, i’d like to hear a third party and general assessment of player development, as our success in large part depends on just that.
Luck, pertains to the injuries. I think I need not say anymore.
This town needs an enema!
I don't really have anything to add here...
Just that, by chance I looked at my profile and saw that I was at 1,999 comments. So this is my 2,000th comment!
I guess in hind sight I would have liked it to be more deep and meaningfull, but I only have so many deep and meaningfull things to say, I can’t use them all up.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.
Holy crap, man. How long have you been here, like, 8 months? I’ve run this thing from the beginning, and I’m only up on you by ~800 comments.
You’re the man.

What can I say
Work became much less boring once I discovered Rumblings.
You’re killing me in posts though.

McKelvin and Hardy - rookies of the year
Kry sent this my way last night, since imagegenerator disables hotlinking…

Browns vs. Bills vs. Titans vs. Jags
Unless we steal the division, the Browns game (MNF!! In BLO!!) and the Jags will be the biggest of the year. We have to find a way to supplant two of those very good teams. Ugh.
GO BLUE!!!
thats right
those were our two biggest games last year and we blew them. A great measurement of our progress will be how we do against them this year, as you said we can’t be a playoff team until we supplant at least one of the two or both.

Jax
In Jax in the heat early in the season b/f our young team learns to play together with the new additions…I am chalking that one up as a loss and I am planning to be in attentdance. It will be the first real test for the new run D (I am not going to say Julius Jones and TJ Duckett are challenging). Only chance is that the run D shuts down Taylor/MJD and makes Garrard beat us. Possible, but unlikely.
Will you be sitting in the "tarped" or "non-tarped" seats?
Garrad did a pretty nice job on the Stillers though, didn’t he?
Garrard is a very good QB
Smart and gets the job done. Perfect for their offense too.
I’m scared of MoJo this year. He stunk against us last year, but I think he’ll be tough to handle this time around. Hopefully, we can slow him and Taylor down to give us a shot….
