Youboty Trade?

Albert Breer of Sporting News reported this morning that rumors are circulating that Youboty is being shopped and that a trade with Cleveland is a possibility.  He sort of glossed over it as if it were common knowledge, but I haven't heard anything at all.

If there IS something to this rumor, it might explain why Ashton was showcased so much in the first preseason game.  I just don't really see the point, though, unless there is some way to pick up another OT out of the deal.

I like the idea of making a trade for an OT, but with Youboty’s potential, I may rather see Will James go. I hate to lose a young guy we drafted who could exceed the abilities of a vet, who may be solid, but who might also be expendable.

It doesn't look good to free agents

to trade away a player picked up in free agency before he plays a regular season game.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

This was mentioned a month or two ago when the Browns lost a couple of cornerbacks to injury. Nothing new here.

It would be a dumb move

Youboty has potential and it’s seemingly coming together now. Why dump him now? We’ve seen how injuries have crippled this position in the past, and with two rookies already, why get rid of a guy who looks ready to contribute from the get go? Plus, he’s probably better than James and Greer, or should be soon.

I think this would be a TERRIBLE move, personally.

Funny

how it seems like such a bad idea to trade Youboty after the game he had against Washington. nobody cared about the player before that game but now realize that he does have skills. I would hate to trade him to a team that we play and could be battling for a wildcard spot. Unless, as killascript stated, we can get a decent OT in return.

Not so...

Several of us wrote that trading Youboty wouldn’t be the best move for Buffalo when the Cleveland talk was rampant.

As an aside, Bentley turned down a one year offer from the Lions. It seems no one is willing to give him a multiyear deal. To my way of thinking a 3-5 year deal with roster bonuses (not signing bonuses) and playing time incentives would make him worth looking at.

Where would he play??

I thought he didn’t want to play Center, and unless we are without Peters for the season and Butler is moved outside, we dont’ really have a need for a Guard either. He really doesn’t seem to be a guy that wants to be a backup from what it sounds like…..

For the right money I’m guessing he’d play center.

Please keep Youboty

Don’t trade him (especially to Cleveland), don’t cut him, this guy is just starting to come into his prime as a player. It would be folly to part ways with Ashton now, especially with the injury bug camped out at St. John Fisher College. It’s bad enough to have the situation we have at OT. Don’t make it worse by thinning out good depth at CB! I’d rather cut an extra safety than Youboty right now – safeties are easier to replace, IMO.

Get the Bills back to the big game!
