Fantasy Football: LAST CALL
OK, folks. It's time to get fantasy football settled. The following Rumblers have still not signed up for fantasy football that asked to take part:
Buffalonian (Rumblings Premiere League)
buffaloboy90 (Rumblings League 2)
Kumario (Rumblings League 3)
E-mails with invites to your respective leagues were sent to your email addresses within the past two days. If you did not receive an email, please let me know ASAP.
I'm giving this another 24 hours; perhaps an hour or two less. We need to get these leagues filled up ASAP so we have enough time to set up a draft in which as many people as possible can participate for each league. PLEASE check your e-mail, folks.
E-mail me if you have any questions. If by, let's say, noon tomorrow (Thursday) you haven't signed up for whatever reason, we're going to start filling in holes with our backup Rumblers. I'm sorry, but that's the way it's going to have to be. I'll be as flexible as possible, but I can only bend so far. :)

Just sent you an email. For some reason, your email shows up as rstaffeld@adelphia.net, so I sent it to both. Let me know if anything goes wrong.

The Premiere League plays on soccer, and it was kaisertown’s idea. The two winners of the leagues that you and Krenn are commissioning will automatically join the Premiere League next year.

Depends on next year’s interest. If everyone comes back, we’ll kick the bottom two out; if there are a couple of people who don’t return, we’ll have free spots.

While it's not hyped in the media
like many of the “major” sports, anybody who’s played soccer will tell you it’s definitely a sport. America seems to be the last bastion of anti-soccer sentiment in the world, for whatever reason. Maybe it’s a nefarious plot by the NFL or high school football coaches or the high school football jocks who look down their noses on soccer players (for you conspiracy theorists, if there’s any out there). :)

Watching dudes kick a ball back and forth is pretty dull. It’s like hockey without the skates, ice, fighting, and hitting, but on a bigger field, and somehow less scoring. I’m yawning just writing about it.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

Less scoring and the American psyche
seem to have compatibility issues, I’ll give you that. It’s more fun to play it than to watch it, and that’s probably a big part of why it’s never had a huge following like the NFL. The fighting and hitting are there, it just doesn’t look and sound as dramatic as hearing the pads pop or bodies flying into the wall at a hockey rink.

The fighting and hitting are there
In the stands and against the ref.

My bad on being late.
I signed up earlier this afternoon. I assume it went through; let me know if it didn’t.

Just an update, folks – we’ve begun the process of filling in the three available spots (one in each league), and it’s sort of a free for all. If you’re on the list above, or one of the folks who e-mailed me with interest, please check your e-mail. We need this done ASAP.

You and me week 1 match-up. (This is where I would talk smack, but having never done FF before I can’t find anything to say that will have any weight behind it.)

And I am a 7-time fantasy football champion.
Which means that you’ll double me up in Week 1. That’s how fantasy works.
