Around SBN: Hugh Douglas Admits To Stealing From Jaguars

Went to the Browns/Giants game last night....

Never been to any preseason game, anywhere, so I was expecting the most boring football game ever.  However, this thing was actually pretty riveting (for a Browns/Giants game) and there were a ton of big plays, and crazy happenings.  If this was a regular season game, it'd be one of the craziest of the season.

I know this has very little to do with the Bills, but I thought I'd mention a few things....

1. The Browns looked like absolute donkey dung.  Derek Anderson looked like the guy no one had heard of before last season, inaccurate and unsure of himself.  Of course, he was without Braylon Edwards, but man, he was brutal.  His passes were worse than anything we've seen out of JP in year's past.  Skipping passes to WR's, overthrowing FB's in the flat by 4 yards, throwing behind guys, etc.  I hope this keeps up to keep the Browns out of a potential playoff chase.

2. Their D is almost as bad.  That secondary is downright awful right now.  If Youboty were cut from the Bills, he'd have a chance to start for the Browns right away.  Those guys were getting torched by Dominick Hixon, the guy known for the Kevin Everett hit.  He's like 7th on their depth chart.

3. Their ST's was also pretty awful.  Had a punt blocked and allowed a KR for a TD by Hixon.  The Giants had a number of long returns.  On top of that, Josh Cribbs got hurt.

4. The Giants have a backup RB named Danny Ware, who looked excellent.  He's 4th or 5th on the depth chart, so a longshot to make the team.  He looked better than Dwayne Wright ever has and may even be worth looking at if the Giants cut him.

5. The Bills looked far better than the Browns thus far, by a landslide.

6. I wish this was a Bills game, so I could have had something to care about, root for or cheer about.  Instead, I was reduced to rooting for Brady Quinn and David Carr to look like fools, which they succeeded in doing, of course.

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Good to hear about the Brownies. I thought they were mostly hype last season, and thought they were mighty lucky to beat the Bills at home during their playoff push. I still think they’ll be a good team this season and perhaps push for the playoffs, but anyone who thinks they’re sure-fire AFC North champs is crazy.

Danny Ware

Here’s a nice article on the 4th string RB from the Giants that looked great on Monday….

Ware runs well, but will Giants have room?

Much better player than Dwayne Wright….
