My 53

QB: Edwards, Losman, Hamdan (3)
RB: Lynch, Jackson, Oman, Barnes (4)
TE: Royal, Fine, Schouman, Anderson until Schouman's healthy (4)
WR: Evans, Reed, Parish, Hardy, Jenkins (Huggins, Smith on PS) (5)
OL: Peters, Dockery, Fowler, Butler, Walker, Chambers, Bell, Preston, Gaddis (9)
DL: Schoebel, Williams, Stroud, Kelsay, Denney, Johnson, McCargo, Ellis (8)
LB: Mitchell, Posluzny, Crowell, Ellison, DiGiorgio, Spragan (6)
S: Whitner, Simpson, Wilson, Scott, Wendling (5)
CB: McGee, Greer, Youboty, Corner, McKelvin, James (6)
ST: Moorman, Lindell, Neal (3)
Comments: Not concerned about keeping 6 CBs. I know some clubs keep 2 QBs, but I think Bills should keep 3. No other LB, OL, or DL worth keeping because you can get somebody as good during season. Biggest gamble is at WR. I don't want to lose Huggins or Steve Smith, but I really think they'd slide to practice squad without getting picked up. We could keep one more WR and start skinny at TE and hope Schouman comes back quickly.

I say so
Only 3 “true” DEs with Johnson. I think that is right because if need be there’ll be someone, even Simeon Rice as a stop gap in case of injury, but remember Steve Johnson not Smith, and I am not sure Jenkins beats him out, although he did look good last night

Thats cool
I like to see new blood, especially unexpected blood on the field. And I see you have Johnson kept instead of Hamdan. I like it, but the idea of a speed rusher and 4th DE would be nice too. There’ll be someone to pick up if one of the QBs goes down so QB im not worried about. Should be interesting to see where they go, but if Jauron follows his friend Coughlin, maybe speed rusher will be the way he goes.

May Have Been Wishful Thinking on Steve Smith
…but you’re right, I meant Steve Johnson.
As for DE’s, we do have 4 plus Johnson … Schoebel, Kelsay, Denney, and Ellis. I would be very surprised if the Bills could upgrade those based on other’s cuts.

Not too much of a disagreement here
I don’t like keeping 3 QB’s just to keep 3. Hamdan is nothing special and wouldn’t be picked up by anyone if released. I don’t like taking up a roster spot on a 3rd string QB if Trent and JP are at 100% come Sept 7th, which they should be.
There has been no word on the extent of Schouman’s injury, so that’s a big unknown for any of us making predictions. It appears he’ll miss some regular season time, so we probably have to keep a 4th TE. I think the 4th will be Massaquoi actually. He’s a solid blocker and good ST player, more so than Anderson at least.
Agree with your entire Defense and ST. Spragan could be cut in favor of Corto apparently, but man, I’d hate to keep 3 terribly undersized LB’s for backups. Put Corto on the PS, IMO.
My OL would include Whittle instead of Gaddis, who would return to the PS with Robert Felton.
With the extra roster spot I’d have available after cutting Hamdan, I’d keep Steve Johnson or pick up a speed rusher cut by another, if available.

Wow- we're almost in complete agreement
As of now, I have 49 of the 53 you laid out. Our only differences are that I have Whittle, Massaquoi, Corto, and Jefferson making the team instead of Hamdan, Gaddis, Anderson, and James…I guess we’ll find out more tomorrow.

agree and disagree
I agree in that I don’t see Whittle NOT making this team.
I disagree in that I don’t see Corto, or Jefferson. Corto could be practice squad.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

Can't really argue ...
I’ve heard so little about Whittle. He might be shot. I’m not convinced Hamdan would not get picked up if we cut him. He’s got decent experience for a guy with no experience (NFL Europe, time with Bills, good preseason). Frankly, I don’t even care about the differences. These guys aren’t so good that they can’t be replaced during the season.
I agree with Korupt’s comments on undersized Corto vs Spragan. We’ve already got 220lb Bowen for next year. Why keep Corto unless he’s a stud ST’r.

Corto
Corto’s shown me more than any of the other linebackers this preseason. Jauron tends to start the season with 7 linebackers, so in my mind, it’s between Corto and Buggs for a roster spot. I’ve read good things about Buggs, but I’ve seen good things from Corto. I think he makes it…I agree about Whittle not standing out, but I think Gaddis’ value is diminished with Preston’s surpising play at center…I’d never keep a 3rd QB unless he’s a prospect type that you’re developing for down the line; Hamdan’s age makes me want to save the roster spot and keep a project QB on the practice squad…Jefferson’s versatility will keep him on the team as the 9th DL. He could’ve been overtaken this offseason, but no one else has stood out.

The list seems very possible and plausible as Buffalo’s starting roster come opening day.
I wouldn’t put the CB depth like that, though. I’d say McGee, Greer, James, Youboty/McKelvin, Corner
