Its official: Favre is a Jet
Wow. I knew it was coming but I'm still shocked. I hope all of you who say he won't pose a problem for us are right. To me, with an improved O-line, I don't like Favre throwing the ball to Lavurenaus Coles and Jerricho Cotchery for one or two or even three years. Oh boy...I hope our secondary is ready, our pass rush cxan get to the QB, and we are ready to put up points, because I feel like Brett will.

This is great
For the AFC East…the Bills have now been catapulted into being in the most popular division. The Jets play the Pats twice a year, and anytime Favre is on and the Jets might be competitive, that enables the possibility of a flex-game where the Bills could b featured in prime-time on Sunday night, especially on 12/14 and maybe 11/2.
This would be compounded if the Bills are playing well, and the JEts are only okay. Lynch looks like a star in the making and if we are the best we can be, then it would be an excellent segway into a possible playoff berth.
I say welcome Favre, and if Pennigton is loose, pick him up and pick his brain.
Ask yourself, is Chad Pennington, with our team and offensive roster, the better QB for the Bills? Maybe not now, but if we are 3-5, Edwards is struggling, and the heady Pennington has picked up the offense, I would say go with him. Even if i contradict myself later, it is still worthy of debate. And don’t cut Losman either. Have all three and cut Hamdan. Even if we overpay for Pennington, he is a veteran QB who has seen the playoffs and that we don’t have

We might eat our words
A while back we all discussed whether we would rather have to face Jason Taylor twice a season, or Brett Farve. Well it seems we will now find out which of those two is the lesser evil. Personally, I would rather have had Taylor get two or three sacks against us than have Farve toss a touchdown or two into the end zone.
I’m also worried that now two of the games best QBs ever are in our division. Our defense better be ready.

two Hall of Famers in our division. Why?
Like you I am more than a little worried. What scares me is that the Jets are always competitive and lose games by a field goal or TD. If we’re up by 6 against the Jets with 3 minutes left, I do not want Favre with the ball in his hands.

Now the Dolphins need to sign Sean Salisbury
Then the East becomes the “All-time QBs I hate” division.

all-time QBs I hate division
I’d also nominate Jeff Hostetler and his mustache.

every one has to remember that the jets have no one on defense any more. seriously. and their wrs r okay. coles is good ill give them that. but who else? i read something about how there is talks about cutting crotchery. theyre oline is really good and by the time we play them they should be gelled and ready to play 2gether. but i think our front 7 can compete with that. The other thing is how much r they paying brett favre? 12 million a year i think was his contract. idk i maybe wrong. but thats 12 million thats gone for the year and probably next year. on top of if they r good they lose some sizable draft picks. I cant see favre playing more than 2 years. my guess is its one year and then they trade him. The bills should not be worried too much about favre playing for the jets. as long as the secondary is ready to go, which i think they will be, and the d line can play up to expectations the bills will have no problem with the jets.
on the other hand lets say that he does carry the jets and the jets r a good team. then yea theyll compete wit the patriots and hopefully win at least one against them. bringing the playing field for the playoffs a little bit more reasonable for the bills.

The Jets aren’t going to cut Jerrico Cotchery. That is ridiculous. Cotchery had 82 catches last season (27 more than any player on the Bills had) and is one of the best route runners in the entire league. He averaged 13.8 ypc despite lackluster speed and Pennington’s wimpy arm. He picked up 5.4 yards after the catch and is pretty decent with the ball in his hands.
Also is the Jets D really that bad?
They gave up fewer yards per play and points per game than the Bills did.
NT – Kris Jenkins
DE – Kenyon Coleman
DE – Shaun Ellis
OLB – Calvin Pace
OLB – Vernon Gholston
OLB – Bryan Thomas
ILB – David Bowens
ILB – David Harris

ILB – Drad Kassell
CB – Darrelle Revis
CB – David Barrett
CB – Justin Miller
SS – Kerry Rhodes
FS – Eric Smith
It certainly isn’t a spectacular unit, but it is a defense that held Buffalo to an average of 15 points per game last year.

Jets D
Considering the fact that Buffalo’s offense produced 20 TDs in 16 games last season and New York managed to give up 3 of them, I wouldn’t cite their performance against the Bills as anything to tout them by. We only scored more than 15 points, 7 times last season and one of those games was the Dallas game where the special teams and defense did all the scoring…Jenkins at NT is a stretch at this stage of his career. I have serious doubts about Gholston being effective in his position switch (he reminds me of Mike Mamula) and the NY media has reported that he’s looked overmatched thus far in camp. The Pace signing was another reach by a desperate team going off one good year and overpaying wildly…Although Harris looks like he’d have been a better pick for the Bills than Posluszny (and that’s no knock on Poz), I don’t see that personnel being any good overall. Even with Favre, the Jets win no more than 7 this season.

Not to worry
Vince Wilfork will probably take Favre out at the knees in Week 2…
Get the Bills back to the big game!
