INFORMED FAVRE RUMOR
I am not one for throwing rumors around, but in this case the information is plugged in so I feel obligated to share it.
My roommate works for an elite fitness company in the Twin Cities that works out the wealthiest of the wealthiest. 3 days ago he worked out the wife of one of the biggest stars on the Minnesota Vikings. That star, the night before, had dinner and drinks with the front office of the Minnesota Vikings including GM, Rick Spielman. Star player, asked about the chances of Brett Favre and for info on the situation. Star Player is a veteran and trusted player and divulged the following information to his wife and then his wife to my roommate during there training session.
Rick Spielman said, "IN late March, Favre called the Vikings, Coach Childress and Spielman, and said 'I want to play for Minnesota next year.'"
Also here is what was divulged by Spielman, "If the Jets trade for Favre, a deal is in place sending Favre to the Vikings. The Jets and Vikings worked out a deal weeks ago, as Spielman and Tennebaum are great friends and the compensation is high'
Take this rumor for what it is worth. It is from the horses' mouth. Being I am a Twin Cities resident, the Favre talk around here is off the hook. Brett wants to stick it back to his old team, and what better way to do it then to play in the best rivalry in the NFL. Minnesota v Green Bay on MNF in Week 1 in Lambeau.
It will be interesting to see if this comes to fruition. Will be amazing if Favre goes to the Vikings. Some say it can't happen due to the poison pill the Packers put into the contract. But my sources say it will happen somehow someway.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

That
would be ideal for us Bills fans to see Favre traded back into the NFC. If it’s going to happen, though, it will need to be in the next few days, so that Favre can get settled in quickly before the regular season begins.
Get the Bills back to the big game!
Too steep
The only way the Jets could afford to ship Farve off to the Vikings would be if they got one or two first round picks in return. I’m sure the Packers saw the possibility of the Jets “re-gifting” Farve from the beginning so they added that little clause as an insurance policy.

vikings
are the king of the poison pill. They did it in the Steve Hutchinson deal and their cap savvy mgmt is the best in the NFL. If anyone knows how to orchestrate this it would be the Vikings. Not saying it will happen, but I think there is more to this story than has been told.
Plus even pft.com points out how that trade clause may be unconstitutional relating to the current CBA:
Article XXVIII, Section 1 of the CBA states as follows: "No Club, its employees or agents, shall enter into any agreement, express or implied, with the NFL or any other Club, its employees or agents, to restrict or limit individual Club decision-making as follows: (a) whether to negotiate or not to negotiate with any player; (b) whether to submit or not to submit an Offer Sheet to any Restricted Free Agent; (c) whether to offer or not to offer a Player Contract to any Unrestricted Free Agent or Undrafted Rookie; (d) whether to exercise or not to exercise a Right of First Refusal; or (e) concerning the terms or conditions of employment offered to any player for inclusion, or included, in a Player Contract."
MARVelous
If Goodell thinks the clause is unconstitutional than he won’t approve the Favre to NY trade and your whole rumor is moot anyway.
And I don’t get how the Hutchinson signing is relevant. Minnesota put a clause into Hutchinson’s contract that made it really tough for Seattle to match it. It was really clever, but I don’t see how that makes them any more able to find a way around whatever the Pack put into their deal with the Jets.
Pennington
If this is true why would they have cut Pennington?
