Bills Add Two More to Practice Squad
From BuffaloBills.com
"The Bills filled two of the three remaining vacancies on the practice squad Monday signing wide receiver C.J. Hawthorne and tight end Jonathan Stupar.
Buffalo still has one opening remaining on the eight-man unit.
Hawthorne was signed by the Bills midway through training camp after injuries left the receiver position shorthanded for a time in the preseason. He was one of the five players released by the club during first cuts to reduce the roster to 75 on Aug. 26.
Stupar was an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Virginia this spring and was signed by the New England Patriots this past May.
The 6’3” 254-pound tight end had a career best 40 catches for 359 yards and a pair of touchdowns as a senior for the Cavaliers. He’ll provide depth for a tight end position that’s still trying to recover from a bout with the injury bug."
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Christian Gaddis was signed to the Cleveland Browns practice squad today too. I wonder why the Bills went for Dickinson over Gaddis.
Agreed
Dickinson looked small and pretty terrible. I don’t know why he’s the only OL we kept for the PS. McCaskill looked decent.
Signing Hawthorne is pretty useless to me too. Why not pick up a WR with some potential? This guy is as small as Roscoe and nowhere near as good. Why not a big WR that can develop?
Surprised no Costanzo. And why do we keep Mace around? He’s a tweener that’s shown nothing in his time here.

Well, they already have their big receiver with upside that can develop in Felton Huggins. Why not take a risk on a guy with some speed upside in Hawthorne then?

Hawthorne
I bet they try to develop him as a DB. I remember reading that he played DB his junior season at Hawaii before moving back to WR for his senior season. If that’s the case, I like it. Using the practice squad for developing lottery tickets is more efficient than simply keeping th best player on your roster.
Never forget 56-10. Revenge.
