Murphy ready to return from shoulder injury
Looks like Murphy is going to be a viable option as a backup tackle and as a 3rd TE until Fine is healthy:
Buffalo Bills reserve tackle Matt Murphy [...] said after practice Monday that he’s preparing to fill a dual role: splitting time at his former position, tight end.

What the….? I thought I read something in the last day or two saying he would probably be out another 2-3 weeks at the least. Hmmm, guess not?
I still don’t think this guy is going to do much with a torn rotator cuff, albeit a small tear. As an OT, he needs to be able to extend his arms and keep defenders at bay. Same with his role as a likely blocking TE. It’s tough to see him succeeding with the injury, but let’s hope he can.
IF Murphy is able to play this week, I have no clue who our inactives are going to be….Fine, St.Johnson, C.Bryan, Hamdan (emergency 3rdQB)…and… 4 more??? Maybe Omon, Bell or Preston?, Corto, Corner? This is tough considering the makeup of our team currently….

I’m with you. This is very surprising news, it doesn’t change my opinion that he should be sitting on IR right now.
I wouldn’t be comfortable with him as the third tackle, but he has to be a better blocker at TE than Schouman, so I could see how he could be useful. I would still expect Murphy to be inactive, but if he gets the nod, the Bills will have a tough decision on keeping Bell active. You really don’t have room for 8 offensive lineman for the active gamedays. I think either Preston or Whittle is an obvious inactive.
If Murphy can go I would guess the 8 inactives are:
Fine
Hamdan
Johnson
Bryan
Bell
Corner
Preston or Whittle
Omon or Corto
