MNF and the Jets
Is anyone else watching this monday night game? The Jets were supposed to be the leaders of the AFC east? they are getting handed a whooping on MNF. One of their scores was set up with a 94 yd kick off return and the other was a INT for a TD. Of course i write this as the game is in progress, but as of right now its 38-14 so i wouldnt be surprised if the jets added some throw away td's late in the game. I cant believe everyone jumped on the jets bandwagon after brady went down, this is the same team as last year, just higher pay roll. You cant just buy veterans and think that everything is gonna be fine. have to have that team chemistry.
And a second thing, how does the patriot loss on sunday get more press than the bills starting 3-0 for the first time since 1992 get lil or no air-time? I mean im all for not much press and sneaking up on opponents, but give a little credit where its due. what the bills did on sunday was a huge deal, what a comeback. as always bills get no love/respect from the national press.
Oh and i also have heard no priase for our man trent, who has two 4th quarter comebacks this season, and has been stellar in the 4th quarter. all the talk is about cutler and rivers. ugh

They were as overrated coming into this season as we were underrated coming into this season. They aren’t much better than they were last year…looks like we are going to get a revisit of the Favre of 2006. Wish he just stayed retired.
I think we will earn our respect as the season goes on. Peter King actually ranked us 8th in his “fine 15” and had this to say about Trent:
8. Buffalo (3-0). Aren’t you starting to get the feeling that Trent Edwards is going to be a top 10 quarterback for a long time? I am.

San Diego looks terrific on offense
The Jets came out on the short end but still scored 29…

Read into that number further….they scored a TD on an INT return and got their other early TD after a kick return to the 5 yard line. They were down 38-14 in the 4th Q before getting a couple TD’s against the Chargers prevent D. The Jets look terrible and SD looks great. I think the Chargers are easily the team to beat in the AFC. They very well could be 3-0, and should be 2-1….

exactly
Favre looked old and lost, the jets defense looked horrible and the offense looked inept. sure he threw for some tds and yards ina prevent, anyone can. the jets are a joke.

I watched the Jets a lot last year, their biggest problem is their OC Brian Schottenhemier is a brutal coach. As bad as SF-M, IMHO.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.

What gets press
It is very easy. The bigger press is given to the bigger markets and the bigger names. New York and Boston are two of the biggest markets in the country and Tom Brady and Brett Favre are two of the biggest names in the game. Buffalo is the second smallest market in the league and has no identifiable superstar player. There is simply no way Buffalo will ever win that press battle, particularly with a national sports media that is beholden to the advertising the NYC market generates and is physically located in New England.
When you’re a Buffalo player or team one rule has long been true: you have to be five times better to be even considered half as good.

alright
ill give you that bigger markets get more press. but isnt this league trying to save all the small market teams? i mean the best way to get that right now is by getting bandwagon fans behind them, and the best way to do that is to get that team press. 3-0 and probably (fingers crossed) 4-0 is no small feat. i dont care what people are saying, youll see Seattle pick it up and Jacksonville, two very good teams that we have beat. And i think if they keep Kiffin, Oakland will show how good they are.
and no superstar? i would say without AP that marshawn lynch would have won rookie of the year. that man is a beast, if of course press also equals superstar treatment. i mean all these aregument are circular, but getting press leads to superstar and bigger markets
