Turk made it a point to give the rookie WR James Hardy the opportunity to make plays and score points, but Hardy did not deliver. He had a bad drop that hit his hands, even if it was a little high, and then, on the next three passes his way, Hardy was unable to get the position on the defender necessary to make the grabs; one that would have been a TD.
I hope they work Hardy good this week and he learns from the tape so that he can get a second chance in desert. I think the game plan was to get him involved early, but because of Hardy's lackluster play coupled with the Rams' D's sense of urgency with a heavy blitz, our Bils sputtered out of the gate on offense, which in turn made the defense tired and allowed Stephen Jackson to accumulate 98 first half yards on their way to a 14-6 half time lead. Fortunately, the Bills showed the ability to adjust, scoring 25 unanswered points and blanking the Rams in the second half.
Parrish will be out again, so Hardy better make something happen, because Stevie Johnson might find himself getting some reps if he doesn't, after the bye week.
Go Bills 4-0 !!
Side note: Love the McKelvin hit, and also saw some more good plays from Youboty. Hope McGee is fine, especially with Arizona coming up, but it is always good to see the defensive youngsters making solid plays.
