Horrible Television Coverage
I really hate to complain about the broadcast, but how can you not. They failed to show, analyze, or explain so many key plays in the game. Why are they even there??
Bills second offensive play. Bills have just three and outed the Rams, completed a long downfield pass to Evans, and then get called for holding on a successful run by Lynch. We clearly see Peters complaining, but never get a replay. This was a key play in the game.
It would have never been overturned, but I think someone should have at least mentioned that Avery lost the ball on his long run and dive for the cone. In my opinion he was losing control of that ball before he touched the cone. Again, not enough to overturn it, but at least worth the observation.
Steven Jackson busts a long TD run that McKelvin blows contain on (again!) and there's no comment or analysis that explains McKelvin's role in it. Why not?
Lynch has a 27 yard run called back for tripping. Again, a key play in the game with no replay.
Bills convert a two point conversion to tie the game. An awesome play call with big impact at the time. Jauron and Schonert are arguing, but no replay and no analysis. Why not?
This isn't about the typical Buffalo hypersensitivity, it's about lame coverage.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I agree completely
The coverage stunk. This was probably due to the fact that CBS sent their worst team to cover the boring Rams (and the small-market Bills). It sucks for us, but if we keep playing well, we’ll get better coverage. Go Bills!

I Agree On Why We Got That Crew ...
What I want from an analyst is to break plays down. Especially for critical plays. I don’t get bent out of shape when the mispronounce a name or get the wrong guy, but I want break downs.
eh, this is always a problem. They NEVER show replays of important plays unless it is being reviewed. I don’t know why the networks do this, but it flat out stinks……

I think it depends on the crew calling the game
I mean, the top guys get alot more of those borderline calls shown because the crew working the game will discuss the impact of them. When you have the craptacular special like we did yesterday where the guys know less than most PeeWee football team fans of the Bills do, they won’t put them on the spot by making them discuss the borderline calls (mostly because they’ll screw it up ost likely).
Fear the mighty helmet wearing gopher, he is coming for your soul....
Great Question...
I can’t believe they didn’t show any of those replays. Does anyone think that it’s possible that the NFL puts pressure on the networks not to put too much emphasis on officiating? I know the NFL likes to keep the coaches pretty tight lipped when it comes to being critical of officials and that could trickle over into television coverage. Showing replays of holding or tripping calls, especially when they negate big plays, might not be in the NFL’s best interest if they are questionable. Since may calls like that are judgement calls, many of them are debatable.
Wouldn’t suprise me, especially after all the bad press after the blown call in the SD-Den game.
Agree
Completely agree about the TV coverage. As to Peters’ hold, it was in the center of the TV and as it was happening, I screamed to the TV that Peters should be shot for grabing the guy and costing us a hold. I prayed that the refs didn’t catch it, but I had never seen a more obvious hold during live action.
