Bills Injury Report :: Seahawks Injury Report
This is it, Buffalo Bills fans. The 2008 NFL regular season is a half-hour from beginning, and the Buffalo Bills are on the field and all set to take on the visiting Seattle Seahawks in each team's season opener. Playoffs? The Bills are daring to dream - and predict - and the push for the playoffs starts today in a must-win home opener.
Fortune is on my side this day, as I'll be making the trip up to The Ralph to take this game in live along with 70,000+ more of my Bills brethren. For the folks who'll be cheering on from the comfort of your own homes (or a friend's home, or a bar, etc.), this open thread is for you. This is the only spot you need to talk about the game live as it happens. If you don't have an SB Nation account, create one (it's free) and hammer out a few comments during the game.
Enjoy opening day, folks. We'll have a full game recap up later on this evening (once I get back from The Ralph), and the DVR is set, so plan on a couple of film sessions this week as well. Get your game face on, grab your choice adult beverage (if you're of age) and snackage, and park yourselves. NFL football is back. GO BILLS!
UPDATE:

Anyone else nervous?
I love this team so damn much and I have been so excited for the season to start. But I can’t help to be nervous for this game. By all rights, the Bills should win this game. However, the Bills have shown a disturbing propensity to lose games they should win. They really need to get off to a good start.
Oh so nervous
Im real nervous but I’m probably more excited than nervous, Im about to go down to the bar and watch it. Seahawks fans present at the bar watch your back cause its gonna get loud baby. Question, why is chris ellis inactive I was excited to watch him
if its football sunday, its time for a beer

From DC
reporting in from outside the bills bar in DC. So the line is out the door and around the corner with a couple hundred bills fans waiting to get in. Apparently the manager got a little drunk last night and is late! Suspense is killing me!

Good to hear
there is a good outcome in D.C. That place should be rocking!

That's right
SNF/MNF are at 2 am in the morning. Last year after the Dallas debacle (6 am) I was so … so SOMETHING, that I didn’t go to work!
I was at work
watching that game with a Dallas fan.
Send all pity donations too….

that site showed all the preseason games too, so I’m guessing you might be able to use it for the rest of the season….
Original thanks goes to Cinga, who hooked us up for the preseason….enjoy
~K
alright
alright guys, I’m out. Constant updating is doing hell on my I phone. Enjoy the game, GO BILLS!!!

Weather
Rainy it appears…..
Not sure if that favors us or not with the way Edwards played last year in the elements
~K
it's gotta be the rain
all passes seem high and long, as if they are slipping out. That’s playing with fire.
Be nice if we could get the run game going or maybe try a screen pass…..
~K
Did edwards get hit on that last pass?
or has he just forgotten that his receivers aren’t 9 feet tall?
Ionly saw it for a second
and on a little screen but on the chiefs game if looked like brady was on the ground grabbing his knee
From CB at bb.com
"TOM BRADY INJURED IN NEW ENGLAND: Didn’t see the play myself, but Tom Brady apparently suffered a leg injury in New England against the Chiefs. "
No, it could be worse
He could be throwing to guys in white. He’s doing no good but at least not throwing INTs.
i like the new d line
def puttin pressure on hasselbeck, this will be great if we can keep it up all year
Bills make me wanna SHOUT!
not to defend completely
but i think there are a few drops in there, but def needs to improve that if he wants to win 10 games

I know
Imagine moving your skill players around to get good matchups so that they can succeed…what a concept! Schonert has called more innovative plays already this game than Fairchild called in his whole tenure.
Jauron
He makes the call about whether or not to just sit on it.
Edwards – faring pretty well, especially seeing the weather
Lynch – running game needs work, but seems to be gettting along, I’d like to see better
Awesome TDs, both of them obviously
Parrish could have scored on screen if he bounced outside
Love the pass rush
The Bills CAN win every game
quality
over quantity

11 yards rushing surrendered
Now that is fantastic. Stroud only has 1 tackle and 1 assist but who cares? The DTs really seem to be shutting down the interior run lanes. Poz got a running start at Jones late in the half and just crushed him.
West Coast
I’m going to college on the West Coast, and I just want to say it is amazing to wake up to a Bills lead. The fact that I can’t watch the game is, however, a minor problem.
Bills D getting some credit
by the talking heads, but the poor Hawks having to travel is getting the rest.
if its the bills playin
theres always lots of bad calls.

A couple on that drive
The catch-fumble and the non-call on the grounding. It looks like Kelsay has been held often
I like boselli as an announcer
I like that he’s not talking about how it’s over…and that he talks about the lines instead of just the skill guys.
Yeah, I agree
It is usually best to not be one of the “good” games. That way you don’t get the “premiere” announcers like Joe Buck or Phil Simms. The supposedly lesser guys are usually much more insightful and nice to listen to.
Pretty much responsible for 21 of our points
So I’m still worried about the rest of the season, but this is a good start.

whats going on
I don’t get to watch the game….unless its through espn scoreboard….how does the offense look?
quick recap
O-line’s been dominant
Lynch has been juking and jiving
Edwards has been solid
A B+ job.
by BearsNecessity on Sep 7, 2008 3:47 PM EDT up reply actions
Good
I would rather have solid….instead of erratic losman. No injuries yet right ?
But they like a lot of scoring
and the fake punt for a TD makes for good TV. Maybe I am just wishing since I missed it.
First Block
That was lindels first block of his career
oh my god
I cant believe that link you posted joe p. you just made my day…..do all of the games work on that link !!!
NE survived against KC
KC had the ball at the NE 5 with less than a minute but couldn’t punch it in.
Pennington gets another completion to the 25, 30 seconds left clock running
Ronnie Brown somehow gets out of bounds and stops the clock.
Otherwise the clock would have run all the way down.
by BearsNecessity on Sep 7, 2008 4:00 PM EDT up reply actions
Jets almost intercept it at the end zone.
A few more throws left.
by BearsNecessity on Sep 7, 2008 4:01 PM EDT up reply actions
Jets win
Idiotic fade pass by Pennington gets intercepted; Offensive pass interference and the play stands
by BearsNecessity on Sep 7, 2008 4:04 PM EDT up reply actions
What a great way
to start the season!
O could be better but it was without Jason Peters, so they will improve.
LOVING IT
That game was great to watch. Stroud is by far the biggest difference to this team bar none. And the way he impacts the ENTIRE defense is remarkable. If this guy stays healthy it is going to be a great year for this defense and this team
