Was at the game yesterday and was impressed by the Bills overall performance.  Their STers, save for the blocked 52 yard FG attempt, played spectacularly.  After seeing their impact yesterday, and how a team that was 30th in O and 31st in D last year went 7-9, came up with an idea.

Why not create a point system to evaluate ST play so one can actually rate one teams ST versus another?

Own Punt or KO Returns for TD  = 6 points

Opp Punt or KO Returns for TD  = -6 points

Own TD Scores off fakes = 6 points

Opp TD Scores off fakes = -6 points

TO's forced off returns = 3 points

Own TO off return = -3 points

Blocked FG = 3 points

Own FG blocked = - 3 points

Punts downed inside Opp 5 = 1 point

KO downed in end zone = 1 point

You get my point here.  If special teams are truly 1/3 of the game, there should be a way to objectively rank one teams versus anothers.
