Man, this irks me to no end. Shanahan had three years left on his Denver contract, including a stipulation that Denver would have to pay the difference to continue making him within the top 3 highest paid coaches in the league. And even with that, the Bills wouldn't even consider going after him?!?!?!?! My frustration with RW increases by the minute!

This post got me thinking....

Coaching is a little overrated….. GREAT QB play may be a lurking factor….
Think about what these coaches have done WITHOUT great QB play…
Bill Walsh
Mike Holmgren
Bill Cowher
Bill Billicheck
Mike Shanahan
Jimmy Johnson
George Seifert
Tony Dungy
Dick Vermiel

Think About it……. let’s hope Trent Edwards can add Dick Jauron’s name to that list.

We don't want Shanahan

Shanahan didn’t get axed in Denver because of poor coaching. He got the boot because of his poor personnel decisions. We don’t need any more poor personnel decisions here. Shanahan will not go anywhere else without full control over personnel.

This season has been the worst feeling ever provided by our Bills...a feeling of humiliation. Starting out 5-1 and finishing in last place has been a very cruel tease.

Wait, I don’t get it. How exactly could we have gotten Shanahan for less? And less than what? Jauron I assume?

Could you explain to me how Shanahan would cost less than Jauron?

When I said “for less,” I meant “for less than it would normally take to get an improvement at HC.” Because Denver would have to pay the difference in any offer accepted by Shanahan, the Bills would not have had to pay the top dollar that Shanahan commands.

I wasn’t trying to imply that Shanahan would have cost the Bills less than Jauron, but I still think Shanahan could have been an improvement at HC over Jauron. However, I do understand his teams have issues on defense.

according to Peter King............

Shanny might sit out this next year and come in 2010…..so He’ll be available when Dick Jauron fails to make the playoffs next year……

Shanny in B-lo would restore some faith in Ralph.

In fact, they showed that graphic where Holmgren, Dungy, Cowher and Shanahan could all be available next year and called next year “the year to be in the market for a coach”. Fully expected a FanPost to be up about that already. ;)
