Since the offseason is so long for Bills fans I couldn't help but think if we ever were going to go the playoffs again. The more I think about it I'm leaning towards 2010 being the actual playoff year and not 2009. But i'm not sure and obviously its next to impossible to predict that. So I wanted to poll everyone and just throw some random comments out there to see what everyone thinks.
2009 - AFC/NFC South
Titans, Colts, Texans, Jags, Panthers, Falcons, Bucs, Saints
2010 - AFC/NFC North
Pittsburg, Ravens, Bengals, Browns, Vikings, Bears, Packers, Lions
I put in bold the teams that I feel are typically in the playoff mix come the end of December. Based off of this I feel the 2010 season is going to be easier schedule wise.

When I look at this list I see a few positions that obviously can be upgraded VIA FA but definately most of these will be addressed VIA draft. Typically with draft players it takes them at least a year to get acclimated to the NFL. Especially with later round players. Since we have so many holes to fill I can't help but think that they are going to need the 2009 season to get their ears wet and go through the grind of a full NFL season.
Same can be said for Ellis, Hardy and Johnson. Ellis and Hardy more specifically because of the injuries that occured. But Johnson looks like he has the potential to break through one of these seasons. It maybe next year - but another season definately won't hurt him.
Since DJ just signed his extension - I think he will be our coach into 2010 unless we win less than 6 or 7 games next year. Since I think we will be 7-9 again it is likely that DJ will be there in 2010 - I obviously could be very wrong - but I see it going down this way.
Schonert will have yet another year to get his playcalling on the right track and Fewell will hopefully come along and get better as well.
This would be year 5 for the Ivy league dynamic duo plan that got this thing going and all in all I think it will happen. Obviously not as fast as we would all like (how about every year), but it does look like its going to happen.
I know that its close to impossible to predict this. But barring any DJ firings and just going on what we know what does everyone think?
