Lynch Reaches Pro-Bowl

Chris Henry is injured and is being replaced in the Pro-Bowl by Marshawn Lynch. On the front page, Brian compared Donte Whitner to other 1st-round safeties. There are problems with that type of analysis, though. Imagine if Marshawn Lynch weren't on the Buffalo Bills. Imagine he were on the Tennessee Titans or the Minnesota Vikings... he wouldn't be reaching the Pro-Bowl as an alternate, he'd have been 1st string.

Statistics are more confirmatory than exclusionary. For instance, you can validate that Phillip Rivers had a good season by taking a gander at his passer rating, but you cannot exclude Marc Bulger as a good QB because he posted a 71 passer rating. Bulger was on a terrible football team.

Sure, but I used the stats to confirm that Whitner hasn’t made a big impact. :)

Stats are very meaningful

First you look at if a team is winning and the stats help you tell the story of why.
In our case, the defense is lacking big plays, and of the players who should be making them, you have Whitner, not making them.
On offense, Lynch is our offense where on other teams that is not the case. For example, there is a running back on Houston that was mentioned as maybe getting the pro bowl nod, and has better rush yds than Lynch, but Lynch hs a bunch of catches and basically is our offense. So he gets it. He should be having fun out there, and i might actually watch it now. let’s just hope he’s not carrying people out there and gets himself hurt. That would be most dumb

The Bills CAN win every game

Bluger...

If yo uwatched Bulger this year, he was flat out terrible and got benched for it. The stats say he had a bad year and he did…… it’s amazing.

YEAH!

I am proud that Lynch’s work ethic has gotten him to the pro bowl even if someone had to get hurt so he could make the trip. Lynch IS A BEAST and he has a ton of heart as he lays it all on the line come EVERY Sunday. How many other NFL players do this week in and week out? (It does suck that you hit a woman while you were drinking and drove off) But hey, that isn’t what is being discussed.

Whitner is not a playmaker, let alone a game changer. He is a HUGE liability in the passing game and he is too slow to react in the run game. Yet how much does he get paid every year? I don’t even want to know. Plain and simple, the guy SUCKS. He wasn’t worth his draft status at #8 AT ALL and yes I should have thrown my television out of the window when I wanted too when they drafted him.

Bulger...

Guy is a leader and he has a cannon of an arm. Problem is that his o-line really SUCKS. Oh and dont mention that when someone doubles Holt, there is no second option. Wait, doesn’t this sound familiar? No TE, or WR second option? I feel really bad for Stephen Jackson too.

Marshawn Lynch deserves this.

I just might watch some of it now that he is playing. He is a unique runner with a unique style and plays with passion. He’s a rare playmaker on our team. I’d still like to see him miked for a game.

I might just watch the pro bowl now

Any chance to see me a little extra beast mode is a bonus for me. I was so upset I couldn’t see him in our final game against NE that I went to. Although I still love Jackson. I’m just hoping he doesn’t go all out beast mode and risk getting hurt, I think a part of me would die on the inside if that happened.
