Last year at this time Buffalo was 4-1. Trent suffered his first concussion in a miserable loss to Arizona. Aside from that game, things were looking bright. Dick had an 87% fan approval rating on ESPN.com. The offense was clicking. Trent was beginning to look like the QB we've been missing for the last 10 years. Visions of late January football games at the Ralph danced in our heads.
Fast forward to this year. Buffalo is 1-4. They are two late game fumbles away from possibly being 3-1. Having T.O. opposite of Lee has done nothing to get either open. Buffalo still cannot beat a divisional opponent. Players are flocking to the IR like flies to S***. Dick has an unheard of, never seen before, 2% approval rating on ESPN.com. Buffalo's once stout special teams unit looks like they've all ridden the special short bus to the stadium each sunday (and one monday night).
I only pose this thought for discussion. After a bye week and a drumming of San Diego, and things couldn't be better, Buffalo TANKED last year. Could it be possible that with this loss, and things couldn't be worse, Buffalo rights the ship and has a respectable finish to the season?
Or am I just drinking too much Kool Aid?
