This season has just begun!
After being deeply depressed sunday and monday, so depressed that I was looking at my season tickets in hand and was thinking the unthinkable. I went to bed monday night after watching the Phins and Jets game and grew even more depressed watching those 2 teams play great football... This is where it gets strange... I don't know what happened, but when I woke up yesterday morning, it felt like the Bills Fairy (who would look like Bruce Smith) punched me in the face while I was sleeping. I woke up to "Lightning Crashes" by Live (yeah I think its a song about abortion) but it got to me. I turned my light on, and glanced over to my pile of clothes that were still sitting there from sundays game. I saw my Jim Kelly jersey sitting there staring at me, and i got a feeling inside me that I haven't felt since training camp. I was refreshed... born again. I had this strength, this power within and I said to myself... "Holy crap, we're going on a 3 game winning streak". "Greg, you might be crazy, but something is going to happen sunday and this team will SOMEHOW get it together." Later that day, I read J2'S fanpost, and didn't feel alone anymore. It was all coming together. My life made sense again, and realized no matter how low the Bills get, I will always BILLieve. It's all about BILLieiving. Two of my friends already sold the rest of their season tickets, and I've been telling them all day yesterday that they are going to regret this decision...Ralph, I don't always agree with the way you do things, but you are Buffalo Bills football. You are a great human being. And Ralph, you have given me something in my life that I care more about than anything in the world. I love this team, I love this organization, I love everything about it, and I will be there every single home game, giving back to this organization. I BILLieve we will beat the Jets, and we WILL go on a 3 game winning streak. And I agree with J2, we will be 10-6 at the end of the year. Bills 24-Jets 17....GO BILLS.

Someone needs help
I’m from south central PA, but I would imagine there have to be some reputable rehab clinics where you are, so you can get some help.
Two of my friends already sold the rest of their season tickets
Can you tell me who bought them, so I can unload mine?

Two things
I too am from Central PA. York actually. Nice to know there are other Bills fans in this sea of Pittsburgh/Eagles/Raven’s fans.
“The Wagon” Love this post. Should be on the main page. As much as I want to give up and stop being such a die-hard fan…I can’t do it. My love and passion for this football team is too great.

Another Yorker?!?
That’s where I’m from; a Shiloh (West York) neighborhood. This is my 3rd year with season tickets. Could be my last for awhile, too.

Yorker
I was born in Rochester, grew up in Potsdam NY. Military and jobs moved me around. Been in York for about 8 yrs. Almost bought a house in the shiloh area last year infact. I do think its great that you have season tickets and make the drive up. For me, I just get the NFL Ticket. Each year after we fail to make the playoffs I say I’m going to cancel it but I cant.

Ralph Wilson a great human being?
NO. A genious business man, absolutly! He has managed to make millions upon millions, year after year. That’s millions of our money for 50 years. and what have we gotten for our money….not much, 4 runnerups and a bunch of heartache.
A genious business man, a horrible football guy.
If by some mirracle they beat the Jets this weekend it will just be another set up for heartbreak. They will get us Billieving again if only just barely and then they’ll fumble another punt or give up another last second touchdown pass to blow yet another fourth quarter lead and Ralph will give some absurd excuse as he counts his almighty dollars and laughs all the way to the bank.
Yep, some great human being.

Your conspiracy theory isn’t applicable to Ralph as a person.

no conspiracy theory.
just debating the wagons take on Ralph. He seems to think that just because Ralph owns the business of the Buffalo Bills that he is a great person. I think he is a great business man for that.
Outside of football he is a good person. Generous with his millions, donating to many good causes.
To say he is a great man because he chose Buffalo for his team is a stretch, and to say we as fans owe him is a joke. He owes the fans everything he has.
While there may have been a time when he tried to field a winning team that time has passed and he clearly is only interested in filling the stadium with smoke and mirrors. Sorry to sound so gloomy but come on.

Gotcha. Just wanted that clarification, because you came across as the opposite – it seemed you were saying he’s a bad human being because the Bills haven’t won very much.

Let's look at the numbers.
Ralph Paid $20,000 for an AFL franchise that is worth $800 million+ NOW?
We owe Ralph NOTHING…..he owes US EVERYTHING.

you should be proud of our storied legacy and not discount it because you weren't born
If you can’t appreciate our legacy then try being a Lions fan for a day. Its nice to have a proud history, you should appreciate it more.
Do you think the U.S. victory in World War II means nothing because you weren’t born. Obviously the two are nowhere near comparable but you get my analogy.
Be proud friend, we’ll get there again.

Well technically the Lions have more championships than the Bills do, they have 4 NFL championships from before the Super Bowl era…

Storied legacy?
I hate to break it to you but the Bills storied legacy is 4 straight Super Bowl defeats not 2 championships in a league that 95% of the general population knows nothing about. Hell, ask you’re average Buffalonian and I bet that they don’t even know that the Bills were once champions.

The AFL championships are nice for heritage.
But to not have one since the merger tells me Mr Wilson could only win a championship with lesser cometition…..not at a higher level. Could we say for sure if the merger happened in 1960 we would have those 2 championships?
I don’t know, but when the merger finally occured, there was no finising #1, at least as of now, hopefully it will change.
I started becoming a bills fan during the Chuck Knox era, that was when I became old enough to start understanding football.
I mean no disrespect for what the Bills accomplished before the merger, just want to once see them do the same after the merger,

Oh yeah
I also remember the back to back 2-14 season well. When we first saw the bags aka the unkown Bills fan. I am frustrated, I am not 60+ and got to see the 2 championships we won before my time. Good for Ralph he won them. Good for all the people who enjoyed them.
Now win one for my generation. I’d much rather see a super bowl win way more than back to back 2-14 seasons which is where we appear to be heading if someone doesn’t start doing something different at OBD.

Not definitively but many sports writers have tried and most have come up with the Bills winning those fictional “Super Bowl” games. Of course we awere supposed to beat the Giants, too.

I am big fan too...
However I am not drinking the same KoolAid as you are and think that same great football that you saw Monday night will be exactly what we will see on Sunday however it will mostly likely be one-sided…
We’ll see how a rookie QB will complete look years ahead of our 3rd year QB.
We’ll see a OL that knows how to run and pass block without false starting every 5th play.
We’ll see a defensive rush from LB’s and Ends that will create havoc on our inexperienced Tackles.
We’ll see man to man coverage in the defensive backfield.
We’ll see a creative game plan from a rookie head coach and passion on the sidelines for firing up his team and players.
Yeah we’ll see real football alright on Sunday…
Somehow I am not sure that everything we’ll be seeing will be on both sides of the field???

for the record
i too realized last night what a weirdo I am. As much as I write here about the next coach and how upset I am I can’t shake this stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid notion that we are still in it and that we will, maybe, just somehow, turn this season around and make a miraculous run.
After thinking that last night I finally settled myself by deciding I have a problem. I have a problem that is a love affair with this team. No matter how much reason tells me we really blew it this year this annoying little voice in my head keeps saying "all we have to do is win the next 4., get healthy during the bye, and we are 5-4.
Maybe, its this unending hope that makes us the best fanbase in the world. All I know is, I can never miss a game, I can never stop thinking we can do it. It really sucks to tell you the truth.

The easy way out of it is to be annoyingly pessimistic. I had our record at 3-13 before the season even started :D

As Bad as it's been
The offensive penalties, the careless interceptions, the blown gap assignments on defense… The Buffalo Bills are only 2 games back of 1st place in the division. Now I know we are all feel pessimistic and have no hope for any kind of salvage to this season, but let’s be honest here, a win on Sunday puts us one game behind.
I sat and watched Mark Sanchez last night and even Chad Henne and saw each make incredible throw after incredible throw and I am thinking, “What the heck is wrong with Trent that he can’t do the same thing?”. Honestly, the Bills have better receivers than both the Jets and Dolphins yet we look completely inept at throwing a 10 yard in/out route. Look, this is the week Trent Edwards either shines or loses his job. DJ is in the hole, but most likely were stuck with him through the end of the year. Should the Bills rally and find a way to get back in the mix this Sunday I would still expect Dick to be gone at the end of the year. I have learned enough from being a fan of this team to not really count on hope and possibility, but it’s to early in the season to just stop watching. The Bills can’t fall any deeper, they are the lower class of the division, the shoe shine boys for the Pats, Dolphins and Jets shoes, do they want to be there much longer?

I find myself being optimistic...
and then I hear things like this: “Bills rookie offensive tackle Jamon Meredith confirmed that he did take first team reps at right tackle in practice today, and he expects to get his first NFL start Sunday at that position when Buffalo heads to the Meadowlands to take on the Jets on Sunday”

Could it really get worse on O-line? Get the rook some playing time. Maybe he surprises us with flashes. Nobody else has been doing anything, so what could it hurt?

I'm with you brother
I was walking down by the crossroads in my Bills jersey last night, and came across this old weird looking dude. He looked at my jersey and smiled. He told me that if I was willing to sign this piece of paper he had, in my own blood of course, he would promise the Bills finishing with a record good enough for the playoffs. Off course I signed, because nothing would make me happier than having Richard Cranium around for another year. BTW, anybody know what the soul is going for these days, I have the feeling I got screwed!
Why do today, when it can wait til tomorrow; the games on!
