Buffalo Bills at New York Jets: Week 6 Open Thread

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets, Oct 18, 2009 4:15 PM EDT

Thebestteameverred_medium   Nyj_medium
Buffalo Bills (1-4) at New York Jets (3-2)
4:15 PM ET, The Meadowlands, East Rutherford, NJ (TV: CBS)
Jets on SB Nation: Gang Green Nation

Bills inactives: RB Xavier Omon, WR Roscoe Parrish, OT Jonathan Scott, DE Chris Ellis, CB Ellis Lankster, S Bryan Scott, S Todd Johnson

The Buffalo Bills are 1-4.  They've lost eight straight games against AFC East rivals, they're 4-12 in their last 16 games, and their current three-game slide has put everyone in the organization on the hot seat.  To say they need a win today is an understatement.  To say that those who expect a Bills win today are few and far between might also be an understatement.

This is your open game thread for today's game.  As you watch (or listen, or however else you plan to keep track of the game), remember our Survival Guide to Watching Bills Football.  There's a strong chance you'll need it.  As always, GO BILLS.  As tough as it is to be a Bills fan right now, wiping the smirk off of Rex Ryan's face is still a goal worth attaining.

PFT is saying that it’s a sign that Parrish will be traded. By the way, PFT said earlier the Ravens called Buffalo about TO. Could a Parrish trade to Baltimore be in the works? They did give the Bills 2 3rds and a 5th for McGahee….

I can’t think of anyone the Ravens would want and don’t see them giving more than a 4th for Parrish by himself. Buffalo might get a 3rd for Parrish and a 4th but even that would be iffy. For a 3rd, I’d go as far as Parrish a 4th and the Eagles’ late rounder from the Peters trade.

I doubt that Baltimore would want Parrish. He’s a crappy WR and the Ravens have pretty good returners.

Something the league needs to address

The penalty after the punt was only decided upon after the TV break, leading to about a 3 minute delay for the audience. That’s absurd. The officials had a 2 minute TV break to get everything worked out.

Also, coaches should not be allowed to randomly hold up the game with bitch sessions to officials. Throw a red flag if there’s something to discuss or shut up.

Then they won’t have stupid things like that to say. They’ll have to come up with other stupid things. Which I’m sure they will…

TD pass is my guess…

That’s like four games for Trent Edwards.

Look. He's a 3rd round draft pick from Stanford and he throws like one. He's a bumpkin. Pass.

or is our coaching staff all of a sudden calling plays throwing downfield with Fitz? If htey are that makes zero sense.

Im guessing their not. Which means I was dead wrong about Trent wanting to go downfield but not having time. Fitz has throw further in one quarter more times than Trent has in three games!!

If the Bills go on to win this game, that’s the beginning of the end of the Edwards Era in Buffalo. Not that Fitzpatrick is the answer. But clearly, it will mean Edwards is just lacking, and it will be time to move on as soon as practical.
