Mathematically? Yes.
Realistically? Probably not.
We are 2-4. We’d have to go something like 8-3 over the course of the final 11 games. We haven’t won 8 games in a season since 2004 when we went 8-2 down the stretch to get a sniff of the playoffs. Too bad we lost that final game against the Steelers backups to finish 9-7 and out.

Despite my fervent prayers, I don’t believe they’ll give us a win for not losing during our bye week. 2 wins + 4 losses + 8 future wins + 3 future losses = 17 games.
I would imagine going 8-2 would be the bare minimum. 10-6 is probably what it will take given that our division winner last year was at 11-5 and the second place team couldn’t get into the playoffs with a record of 11-5. The AFC East is playing tougher teams this year, so that helps, but there are still two 5-0 teams, three 4-2 teams, and four 3-3 teams we have to leapfrog just to get to the wildcard. Not saying it’s impossible, but everyone’s expectations should be tempered.
Official ledge-talker-offer of the Buffalo Bills.

I believe we will
We are as good as any other team out there. The league is just that close that I have no confidence that all these 5-0 or 4-2 teams will remain that way. Baltimore and the Jets have lost 3 in a row and in both cases, teams have learned how to beat them. If the Raiders, Miami and KC get hot and a few things happen, the AFC could be a mess and we could sneak in there.
I fully believe this team can run the table. The main problems are the Texans, Falcons, Colts and Patriots. I think we can beat the Patriots if every things goes perfectly, i.e., we don’t fumble the ball with a couple of minutes to go. The Falcons and the Texans are beatable, but we would have to execute perfectly. The Colts . . . I don’t know. To go 8-3, we could lose to Houston, Atlanta and NE. The Colts game is the last one by which time they would have sown up home field and be protecting players while we are fighting for our playoff lives.
I can see it.
Except
Like whybillswhy pointed out, they don’t have 11 games left. 11 weeks, yes, but 10 games and a bye.
If they manage to suprise us and make it to the bye at 4-4, there’s a chance. 3-5, and it’ll be very very difficult not to go 7-9 again.
Trample the weak, hurdle the dead!
hate to be that guy
i’m really not trying to be pessimistic but i think we have a better chance of getting a top 3 pick than making the playoffs. that’s just how i see it.
Actually that’s more realistic statistically, too. The Bills are only a few spots away from the top 3 picks but a lot further from the top in the division or wild card race.
