Why not a Penalty on Edwards Injury?

Ok everybody knows that the hit on Edwards was a penalty right he was down and he got him right in the head after the play why does a push on a QB get a penalty and not this?

probably because the officiating all game was absolutely atrocious. lee evan’s non-catch, woods’ holding call, and some of the interference calls were pretty bad.

Lee Evans didn’t catch that ball. He bobbled it when his hand came off it.

I thought all the calls in the defensive secondary were pretty good.

that’s why i said it was a non-catch.

as for secondary calls, they didn’t call TO’s mangling of Revis on that one underthrow.

the no call

on the Edwards hit was ludicrous. Absolutely ludicrous. I can’t believe it. He not only got pile drived into the turf AFTER he was down, but he twisted his helmet off. What a joke that call was. If that’s Tom Brady the guy is thrown out of the game

favoritism

i’m not one to believe in the several nfl conspiracy theories, but i really do believe that certain QB’s get preferential treatment (cough cough tom brady).

No penalty because it wasn’t late or cheap. He was still upright when the two Jets defenders (Pace and someone) were trying to bring him down. He ducked his head into them and happened to get twisted like a pretzel because of all the bodies bearing down on him. His head got twisted under the pile, but I didn’t see any grabbing or unnecessary roughing. It was just a hard hit that was made worse because of all the defenders bringing him down.

disagree

It was both late and cheap. Trent’s knees were both pinned to the turf prior to the scrum. The lack of a penalty in that situation is completely inconsistent with the current RTP rule application.

he was on his nees

How do you feel it wasn’t cheap when Edwards had both knees on the ground and gets his head bounced off the ground by Jenkins knee 2 seconds after edwards knees are on the ground?

There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.

He was still upright when

With two knees on the ground.

I gurantee pretty boy Brady would have gotten 15 yards, and a fine.

He’s already got that for much less egrigious hits this season.

It’s obvious there a few zebras who have a man crush on Brady.

So has Edwards, BTW, against the Pats no less. In fact Edwards has drawn the most Roughing the Passer penaltiesi n the NFL this year.
